lost reverse

lost reverse

ave a 2005 ford f150 4x4 with the 5.4 got 48,000 miles on it not hard miles but i use it but dont pull anything or that sort of thing and yesterday it started a delay when going into reverse and today i lost reverse completely was looking for some ideas

Call the dealer up, its a mechanical failure. I dont believe your warranty is still valid either, unless you have an extended one.

Reverse is always mechanical, meaning that if the transmission were electronically dead, you should still have at least one forward gear range and reverse. If nothing is wrong with the shifter or shifter cable/linkage, something broke inside the trans. Sorry.
