transmission will not come off.
my buddy and are in the process of removing the transmission from a 1992 ford f-150. it is a five speed manual. we have disconnected all of the extraneous material such as the reverse light wiring harness, hydraulic line, etc. we removed all bolts from the bell housing and have removed the starter as well. the rear mounting bracket has been removed and the driveshaft disconnected from the rear. all steps have been followed and double checked. the problem is that the transmission itself will not seperate from the engine block. we are at a loss and very frustrated. can anyone give me advice on this problem?
thank you

If all the bolts and linkages are off then it is binding up between the input shaft and the pilot bearing, try lifting up the tailshaft and slidding the tranny straight back and avoid any verticle bind. It should then slide out. Slipping into gear has nothing to do with the tranny hanging up while you try to remove it.
