I did that on my truck, and it works like gangbusters.
Really then enlighten us. I have read those articles over and over. The transmission yes the 5.4 truck has the hardened gearsets making it the best core. The valvebody on the other hand is not the same. On a side note all 03 up transmission have the hardened gearset so buying a 5.4 truck transmission is null and void. Do you know when those articles were written?

Does a B&M shift improver kit make much of a difference regarding transmission life.

Heck, all of the holes arent there on the truck separator plates until you get into the very newest ones. How do you enlarge holes 4, 5 and 11 if they are either not there or already a MUCH larger slot depending on the variation. Cars only have one basic plate configuration. Trucks have at least 3
I kinda do a lot of these. Maybe I should take pics of the different plates and post them?

Hell yeah post up the pix! The more the better.
All I am saying is that I followed the instructions on the site with my valvebody and have had spectacular results.

I also did this same mod per the TCCOA site BUT it was on my 94 Tbird, it hit from first to second hard as a rock and occasionally got a 3rd gear scratch. I've been wondering about doing this to my 2001 Screw... hmmm I need more thinking and research. It did work great for me however.

I don't know how well the Troyer bolt on value body mod works, if it were in the same category I'd take the bolt on valve body vs drilling holes out. buying new springs etc... less of a pain with a bolt on.
