1-2 shift is really fast, too fast

Hi, I looked through 5 pages of posts and don't see anything on this.

2001, 2WD Screw, 5.4 100k miles

From a stop, it almost instantly shifts to second and then takes me up to a reasonable speed/RPM for the 2-3 shift.

If down shifts fine, no shuddering at all. Shifts are butter smooth... up and down

I bought the truck at 75k, it's always done this, I swapped fluid using mercron V.

I want to go by a trans shop for a diagnose but thought I'd ask all the folks here first. I got taken once by a trans shop a long time ago... never again

Also, I'd like to firm up the shifts, thinking of the Troyer bolt on value body or a programmer to get that and better engine perf. Any reccomendations one way or the other? Maybe do both?

Thanks guys.
