6.2L BOSS vs. Cummins

So my friend and I constantly have arguments between dodge and ford since he owns a dodge. He constantly says how his "hemi" would pull my triton without question and since its true but I refuse to admit it, I brought up the new BOSS engine that is comin out and he wouldn't stand a chance. He said the cummins would win against it but I say hell no. I need some raw facts to prove I am right but general opinions are definitely welcome too!

I'm not going to list out a page full of wiki quotes, but the cummins, I would imagine, would out pull/tow the 6.2 without question.

Depends WHAT Cummins and what is done to it. Stock, my money is on the 6.2. Add a chip and that Cummins will walk all over it.

Those Hemis may haul *** unloaded, but throw some weight behind them and they really suck. I should NOT have to hold the pedal to the floor to maintain 50 MPH up a hill towing 5000lbs. Did that today in the boss's truck.

u are talking gas vs. diesel, the diesel should win every time, try boss 6.2 vs hemi and boss will turn circles on it.

My dad just got a 3500 Dodge with the 5.9 cummins. It isn't a race car but with 600+ ft-lbs of torque it had better pull a 6.2. Gas vs Diesel is not a competition IMO, instead it is apples to oranges..

Plus you are talking about a diesel engine that is only available in 3/4 ton and up, and comparing that to a 1/2 ton vehicle with a gas engine. If he wants to compare 1/2 ton trucks then he needs to stick with the engines available in them, if he wants to compare diesels the can compare to the 6.4 powerstroke.
BTW the hemi doesn't pull for chit, anytime me and my buddy have to pull a trailer we pull it with my truck because his hemi get around 9 mpg with it hooked up and feels like it is all it can do to pull 6 thousand pounds.

7.3 maybe depending on whats done to it, but most cummins i have seen will walk over the 6.4, those 5.9 cummins are no joke

yes i agree those cummins are nice but i look at the specs 269 hp at 2,550 rpm and 594 lb-ft of torque at 2,300 rpm for the 5.9, 350hp at 3000 rpm and 650lb.ft. at 2000 rpm for the 6.4l in 2001 the 7.3l made 250hp and 505lb.ft. with the auto trans and 275hp-520lbft with manual trans yes the cummins has the 7.3 stock but if you go build for build between the two i think the 7.3 would get it in the end the only reason ford stopped production on the 7.3 is because the emissions are getting too tight on the manufacturers and what not i dunno its just my opinion tho

Well who keeps anything stock? A modded cummins is deadly. Put your ford pride aside, it is fact.

dont get me wrong i love powerstrokes, but i am sure that most cummins (atleast the 5.9) will outlive a powerstroke and be more powerful, there is a reason cummins are put into 18 wheelers and heavy duty trucks

Mod for mod, the 6.4 will RUN, not walk all over the 7.3. Hell, the 6.4 can add 250-275 HP with JUST a tuner alone.

And all of the diesels have their fair share of problems. And the Powerstrokes are used in International heavy duty trucks, too.

i love my powerstrokes dont get me wrong, if i had to choose between a 5.9 cummins and any powerstroke i would go cummins, if i had to choose between a 6.7 cummins and any powerstroke than i would be all over a powerstroke
