Angry Lower Ball Joints Disintegrating (Picture)

Installed brand new lower control arms and Im greeted with this 1 year later. Both lower ball joints are completely gone. Did I bolt them in wrong or too tight? It looks like the top cap has moved around inside the ball joint. WTF would cause this???

I'm trying to remember what mine looked like. Was there a circular clip holding the top of the joint?

x2

I had this same experience buying cheap junk parts for not only my vehicles, but others. Same experience.

Go with Moog premium line or OEM.

Lifted trucks are hard on ball joints.

True on lifted trucks, but those ball joints looked like the crappy Drive Works I tried years ago on my Jeep Compass... worked for less than a year and they looked the same.

Again, like glc said, you get what you pay for.

is it a greaseable/serviceable part? I also agree with you get what you pay for. In my older age, I am finding that OEM really is the best option for most applications. I also try to find who is the OE supplier and try to find them cheaper. Not all manufacturers make their own parts.

I have a ball joint on my Mitsubishi, that has a torn boot, and have for several years, and it doesn't look that bad, but I make sure it is greased up occasionally

You have discovered counterfeit parts. Luck nobody died.
I would love to see the NTSB go ISIS on those douches.
