Question 5" Rear Block + 1.5" AAL = Drive Shaft Spacer????

In the very near future I am plan throwing a 6" Zone Offroad Lift + 2" Level and 5" Rear Block + 1.5" AAL on my 2wd truck. I was wondering if I needed a drive shaft spacer? Thanks in advance for any help.

Most likely not, but since everyone's truck is different you really won't know until it's installed and you have a chance to drive it.

A 5"+1.5" will only give you 6.5" in the rear and you will have 8" up front. The rear will be 1.5" lower. You may not need a spacer, but would advise you to shim it 2 degrees. If you want to have the rear leveled I can give you a contact to had some blocks made. He can fab them what ever size you need up to 7". A 6.5" block along with the 1.5" AAL will have you level. The blocks will come tappered.

The back sits higher from factory, so having 8" in the front and rear wouldn't make him level, that'd give him the factory rake back.

No he won't. Remember that the rear's sit ~2" high from the factory. If anything i think he might be .5" *** high.

edit: pizzaman, jinx you owe me a coke.

The rear sits higher bc it has a 2" block. Remove that block and it's level. I hope he's not stacking the 5" on top the 2".

2wd trucks do not have a block in the rear, only 4wd trucks have the block

2wd's still sit higher from the factory in the rear, they don't come level.

Isn't the zone lift just a 4" kit that includes a 2" level in the first place? I'm not positive, but if I'm right theres no way that will work.

I have never lifted a 2wd nor looked at the rear suspension so I assumed it had a block. But in that case then the front on a 2wd is still near 2" lower than the rear which means it's also 2" lower than a 4wd. Are you also saying that a 6" lift on a 2wd is equivilent to a 4" lift on a 4wd?

You are correct. The Zone lift drops the front differential and lower control arms 4" and uses 6" spacers. Adding a 2" level kit would ne like having a 4" leveling kit on a factory truck.

There were several guys on here who tried doing the same with the 6" RC and couldn't do it. Some say the RC drops the differential 5.5", but I have heard from others that it's only 4".

Exactly, it takes 2 more inches to make a 2wd equal to a 4x4.

Ok guys,
By no means did I want to get everybody all spun up, LOL....You are right about not having a block on the 2wd, because I installed a 1" rear block myself. I am pretty sure that the late model 4wd's have a 1 1/2 -1 5/8 block back there. As for the lift kit, here is the Zone off-road (pretty much identical to BDS) picture:

I hope this helps

that's not identical to a BDS.

From my research, they are designed separately.
