You'll take the biggest hit in mpg with 35's. The 2 inch differnce with your lift is not gonna effect mpg at all because with your truck not sloped down in front (from factory) to help wind resistence it's not gonna matter between 4 and 6 as far as mpg.

From past trucks, crappy performance and MPG from bigger wheels/tires. And the higher you lift a truck, the harder (less pratical) it is for work.

You can regear and wrench on the motor all you want, but more unsprung AND rotational weight at the wheels is THE WORST place to have it.

I have 10.5" of lift and 38's on mine.

Sometimes its a bit of a hassle with parking, and also just an inconvenience in general

if i could go back and do it again, i would of just went with an 8" lift and 37's.

If it is a daily driver, I wouldn't go past 35s and probably stick with 33's and a leveling kit. This will be what my Screw will have.

Having a truck on 38.5's and 12" of lift it is awesome to get in something else to drive. It's nice to get in something smooth and stock. (My saturn). It's cool to have a big truck but not as a daily driver and if you work out of it especially. Practicality of it is a big thing too. I do a lot of hunting and going out of state. I don't want to drive from FL to SC on 38.5's. So road trips are out of the question past 35's. Everyone always asks why I won't lift my new truck. After driving a lifted truck for 5 years, you understand why driving a HUGE truck gets old.

Good post. When I get another, newer truck, this one is getting 6" + 3" and 38's.

But right now, it needs to be a good, practical (for me) daily driver and "work truck".

This is my old truck that had a total lift of 9" front, 7" rear with 16.5x12 Weld rims and 39x15 Mickey Thompson tires. I only have two regrets -

1. selling the truck
2. not taking more pictures

Ya dont do twenties. Do 24s! lol

I am actually selling my truck because it is to much of an inconvience. Sure its fun to drive in town, but hate having to drive long distances and even some short distances. I will be going back to a leveling kit and 35s on my next truck.
