That is pretty much what I was getting at, get the big suspension lift; then later when you crave more life throw on the body lift or some coilovers/leveling kits to get more from the suspension.

Pretty much that is what you did, right? you wanted more lift, had maxed out the suspension so a body lift was the last option.

if i had saved up i would have been able to do it right, first it was the leveling kit, then the body lift , then the suspension lift.

All in all , im not dissapointed in the BL just bc i have a suspension lift on now, but when it was just the leveling kit/BL i regretted not saving for abit a longer. You know when you get that itch the money aspect goes out the window

You got it right Matt and Ray....

Nothing wrong with a BL on top of a suspension but it's always better to get the bigger suspension instead of limiting yourself with a smaller one.

The way the op is going now, he's going to be limited to 11" or so if he throws a leveler on top. If he went 8"(Rize is actually 8.5" last time I measured) now he could add a leveler and a BL later to get up to 13"+.

May not seem like much but 2-2.5" is EPIC when you can't have it!

Hey everybody, thanks very much for all of your input! This is why I joined this forum, so that I could get the opinions of guys that actually know about lifting trucks and aren't biased like the guys that work at off-road shops who are just trying to make the most money possible. As far as the lifts go, I would love nothing more than to get the rize 8 (8.5 apparently) lift to start out but I'm having trouble getting straight answers from anybody, to include the representative from rize as to what exactly are the parts I would need to functionally install that kit on my truck. From what I've been able to figure out on my own so far that set-up would run anywhere from $3-4K for just the lift compared to about 1700-1800 for the 6+3, does anybody on here know where I can get the best price for the full 8" rize kit? I'm trying to keep on a decent budget so I don't have to spend too many nights sleeping on the couch

i know thats just for the front plus you need the rize blocks which are 277 on e bay and then rear shocks. Just an FYI stuff adds up quick so make sure you have 500 atleast kicking around for things like ball joints, tie rods etc that may need to be replaced.

Dont forget about BDS

they make an 8" kit, i dont know the exact price but i would say it would be in the neighborhood of $2,500.

You would have to call a local shop that carries them to get a price, dont go by the prices on their website.

BDS' 8" is a glorified 6" lift. It's literally a 6" lift with an 8" longer strut up front. I talked to the guys there and looked at all the individual part numbers. All of the parts are the same with the exception of the strut assembly in the 6" and the 8" kit.

I just bought my 2nd 8" Rize kit and this time it was from TopGun Customz. Bought it from their ebay store with a best offer of $2400 including shipping. That is only for the front parts though. It includes all of the brackets and crossmembers needed to effectively bump the truck up 8.5" in the front. The only things that are needed outside of that kit are the rear blocks and u-bolts which they sell for $277 and the AAL which they sell for $156. Being that your truck is an 07 you will need the extended brakelines and lastly you will need longer rear shocks. When all said and done you'll likely be spending $3200 or so albeit for a far superior quality lift and much better set-up.

Correct and correct, it is about $2500 and it doesn't seem to really be a true 8" lift...like you said, more so its a glorified 6" lift. I've been sending out emails to various companies that carry the rize 8" lift trying to get a decent quote on one but so far its been like 3000 for the front, rear, brake line kit etc. I'd love nothing more than to get this kit for more around the 2500 range...

The 1st kit I bought a year ago I had lined up at $2500 w/o shiping and that was for the front kit, blocks, brakelines and Bilstein 5100 rear shocks. With the AAL and shipping it would have been somewhere around $2800 or so. Since then Rize has discluded the rear blocks from the kit and raised their prices. Good luck getting it for under $3k but more power to you if you can.

The good thing is that I'm currently active duty Army and I'm pretty good at talking to people so I'm hoping to work something with one of the retailers. I've had absolutely 0 luck with going straight to Rize, I figured by cutting out the middle man retailer I could clip down the price...oddly enough Rize was quoting their full 8" kit to me for around $4500...which I still can't really figure out since I've been getting quotes around $3K from retailers...I'll be sure to be letting everybody know if I can find anything better. So far its looking like 4wheelonline.com is going to have the best offers.

I'm sure you already know, but ask these places if they offer a military/veteran discount; this would certainly be of some help getting it around the price you want. Ebay might be your friend here too, especially since a lot of the other guys are having great lucking scoring deals off there.

To comment on Rize, I don't know what the hell is going on out there; I have called them several times lately and have been less than impressed with the service I was given I got what I called about, but it seemed I was inconveniencing them and they just didn't have time nor wanted to deal with it. Several years ago when I bought they had some of the best customer service I had ever experienced, apparently all these folks moved on to other things...

And the winner is.......... TOP GUN CUSTOMZ! They are most defiantly the way to go. I was able to get the ENTIRE 8" Rize kit (front/rear+all necessary additional parts) for just under the retail on the front kit alone. Thanks to everybody who recommended that I go with Rize, I can't wait to get the kit and have everything installed!

The entire 8" Rize kit was just under $3K, that includes the front 8" IFS lift, 6" block and 2" AAL for the rear, rear shocks and brake line kit. Then I was able to get the shop I'm getting everything installed at to price match 4wheelonline for wheels/tires so I'm going with 37x13.50x20 Mud Graps on 20x9.5 KMC XD rockstars...with mounting/balancing and everything came out to 2700. So I should have some pretty interesting pictures here in about a week. Oh, I almost forgot, I also managed to pick up a rize 2.5 leveling kit, new in box for $80....I guess everything worked out quite well. Should be looking at 10.5" of lift coming in about a week. Best thing you can do is go to the top gun customz ebay store and "make an offer" on things. Here's their link: http://motors.shop.ebay.com/topguncu...1&_from=&_ipg=
