Torsion crank w/ 4" rear block??

i want my truck to be about 2" taller than it is right now so it will clear 33's better, but i want a little of the rake it has right now. my plan is to crank the torsion bars up, not all the way, but most of the way, then getting a block to lift the back up 2", so it will pretty much look like it does now, only 2" taller. has anyone used a 4" block with a torsion adjustment??? anyone have pics? i dont want the tires to look crammed in there. i am either going to get 285/70/17's or get 18" wheels with 33's(love the smaller sidewall look with offroad tires)

its an 02 fx4. ext cab.

thanks

crank the torsion bars. 2" is the max youll get out of it and that may not be the best thing.

why dont you just crank the torsion bars to level it out, or slightly under, and throw some 33s under there? i was running that setup for a while and loved the look of it. only money you need to invest is the tires and/or wheels.

33s fill the stock wells nicely without looking crammed.

On my 97' I cranked the torsion bars all the way and put AAL in the rear. I fit 305/70/17 Buckshots on factory wheels with minor rubbing at full turn. Maybe you could do this instead of the 4" block. Seems that might put the rear to high.

Are you saying you want to replace your factory 2" block with a 4"? If so, I think that would work just fine. If you're planning on adding the 4" on top of the 2", I think it would look pretty stupid.

I think I would also go with the AAL though.

Did you have any trouble getting it aligned? Im planning on doing it to mine soon even though its "suggested" not to. I was gonna go as tall as i could with tortions, put blocks in the rear to level it and run 33s.

i would take the 2" block out and put a 4" in instead. i was planning on doing an AAL but the block seems much easier and cheaper..

It certainly is, but from somebody who has done both, the AAL is the better choice.

I personally don't know if the block or AAl is best, but I chose the AAL because my factory leafs are shot and the truck squatted with light loads so I knew the AAL would beef it up and it did. The AAL cost around $55 (had to spend an unexpected $50 during the install for longer u-bolts because I didn't remove the bottom leaf) and I installed it pretty quick.

Looks good I think the rear of mine sits a little higher than my front but either way sounds like a winner. what kind of exhaust is on your truck? got a video?
