97 f150 owner about to get the Shaft

Hi, my beautiful truck is getting a front end make over. I installed a 6" fabtech lift and around 6 months later front end starts wobbling. While considering truck is 11 years old i thought I'd change out some key component$$$$$$ Holy Cow, I negotiated $2000.00 to have both upper arms, both tie rods, both lower ball joints, Idler arm and some kind of boots down there and alignment, tire balance and rotation, Does this sound about right? I know its alot of work but want to make sure I'm totally not getting assaulted!!! Any input would be appreciated, still have until tomorrow. J

You're getting it good... I'd expect that work to cost half of that.

I don't know. Ford replace all four ball joints, my idler arm and aligned the front end at 60,000 miles under warranty. The cost was over $800 total.

No vaseline, just pea gravel and dirt. Did all the same components on my 01 Expy for $450.00 + alignment.

The Price of Love

Well shafting has been completed and my truck is running so tight, it was definately worth the 2K!!! I guess i could've done it but would've taken me over 3 days I bet and lots of Stress and my mechanical abilities aren't that great yet and who know what else I would've broke in the process?? Anyways thanks for the funny comments, this website is the BEST!!!!

Sure your truck drives great, but any other should could have done the exact same work for half the price... Parts alone shouldn't have cost more than $400. Even at $100/hr for labor, it shouldn't take 16 hours to do ball joints and tie rods.
