haha...that's one of the reasons i don't use the hammer method. it takes too long and is less safe. the pitman arm puller will have it done in 3 seconds....literally. a couple turns of the ratchet and it's off.

wow that looks good, I got a truck just like that one 05 reg cab FX4 except mine as the flareside bed and i am just about to order the AS 2.5 of ebay, I was thinking about getting the AS 3" rear bock for the rear because i want to see if I can put a set of the 35x12.5R18 BFG M-T KM2's on those stock 18" rim. What do you all think about that setup on my reg cab truck? look good?
i really like going mudding every time it rains. do you all think i would have any problems? rubbing??

Thanks

the rear end of the regular cab is so high stock, i couldn't imagine adding an AAL or block. even after the 2.5" kit, the frontend is still 1" lower than the rear. 35s should fit with just the leveling kit. i would put that on before ordering the rear block because you shouldn't need it.

I would be great if you could post some pics of your truck. I would like to see how those toyos look on a reg cab with 2.5 AS.
Thanks

If your going to use the hammer method, place a jack right under the a-arm so when it pops off it doesnt go very far. I did it this way. Then you can slowly let the jack down to let off the pressure.

thanks! he actually looked at a gray FX4 just like this at another dealership before deciding on this one.

i would like to see some pics of yours on 33s also.
we just found some gently used 35" BFG MTs closeby for $200 for 4. they should hold him over for a while until he gets new wheels and tires.

the Edge programmer just came in the other day also, but the previous owner he bought it from did not flash it back to stock, so he had to ship it off to Edge to have that done....to the tune of $75!

or you can unthread the nut almost all the way and let that stop the spindle. using a jack is a good idea either way though. you can't be too careful with that kinda stuff.

yes, he got the pod also. i haven't taken any pictures yet, but it's installed. we'll see how worth it it is when it comes back from Edge. he emailed the guy he bought it from and the guy gave him the $75 it's costing to reflash the programmer. i thought that was pretty cool of the guy. shows there are some good ebayer's out there. from what i've heard, it makes a good deal of difference once you tune it in. it will also be nice to have the speedo correct when the 35s go on (picking them up tomorrow).

edit: oh yeah, and he only paid $300 for it. a pretty good savings on something that shouldn't ever "go bad". there were several on ebay for around $300-$350.

tires were installed yesterday. 35" BFG MT KM2s on stock FX4 wheels. these tires are awesome! these pics are terrible, but they will have to do for now.
