Is fabtech a true 6"

This reason I'm asking is they say you can only run 35's and ranchos kit is 4" and you can run 35's on it as well am I missing something here. also if you set the same truck side by side one w/rancho and one w/fabtech would one be higher than the other or do they sit the same. Trying to pick which lift to buy is driving me insane.

It will lift the front 6 inches and the rear 3 or 4 inches.

Agree with wandell and also if you don't add an AAL u will be about 1" lower in the rear. So if u don't want the cali sag plan on doing something for the rear.

So you can fit 37's with a 6" lift?? I was told by two shops here in town that 37's would not fit w/out a 3" body lift. .If 37's will fit with the fabtech that would be perfect!

I'm pretty upset. The shop that did my 6" Fabtech recommended 33s, saying 35s would probably rub without trimming. So, being a rookie, I went with their advice, even though i wanted 35s+.

I do love the lift, though. The front end does sit slightly higher, but I'm fine with that. I just want to go higher now, without doing a body lift. I had a body lift on my previous truck, and it was not a good experience for me.

What do ya'll recommend for a little more lift? I already have 35-37" mudders on my mind, first of all....that should help some, but minimally. Would bigger rims, i.e. 18s or 20s, help? Add a leaf?

FYI, I have a 2WD...I know...I know...why didnt I just get the FX4..

Help a rookie out...

You can go with a leveling kit up front (plenty of 2WD trucks on here with 2.5" kits in addition to 6" lifts). Also to raise your rear end up get the 5" blocks and if you do add the leveling kit then you will also need to get an AAL. If you decide to go this route you may need to get longer shocks amd u-bolts for the rear. I should be picking up my 2WD truck this afternoon from the shop, had a 6" Fabtech with 5" blocks installed.

DGNOLA- I have a 6" fab w/5"bl & 315-70/17`s and have very little rubbing. I have a 2wd. Plus I may put my 2.5as back on, to get more front ht. Don,t know what to do in rr. I`ll wait and see how it sits.

WXSCPO-Did you decide to leave your 2.5as on? Can`t wait to see some pics. Been seeing a lot of black trucks looking very sharp. Wished my was black.

you can get the 37's to fit w/ A LOT of cutting and if you dont mind doing some rubbing.

The right way to do it is the 8" Rize lift if you wanna run some 37's with no cutting. A buddy of mine just did his and its incredible! We pulled up to a f150 w/ a 6" PC lift and ours was much taller.

save your money and go with the rize...you will be doing yourself a favor

So...I guess the right thing to do would be to get 5" blocks for the back, which would level it out some, but not lift it any more. How hard is the job to change the rear blocks?

Then, I guess putting on bigger tires, i.e. 35s, would be next.

Would I be able to fit 37s easier if I installed a 3" body lift with the 6" suspension that I already have? Or would it require just as much trimming?

I can't wait to see pics of the black truck with 5" blocks...same color as mine!

No I had them take the leveling kit off and with the 5" blocks in the rear the truck sits perfectly level. I love the look of it and I have no problem fitting the 35's.
