I have a 99 Lariat regular cab with leather buckets and OEM center factory console, keep in mind I have the toolbox behind the seats as well. I installed this sub set-up with no problem and there is about a 1 to 1 1/2 inch gap/space between the console and Clarion enclosure.

Thumbs up Nice job Reel

BTW, I lived in San Antonio for a couple of years 91-93. If I could go out to eat anywhere in that town I would head out Blanco road to Boccones. My wife and loved that place.

Adios,

Chuck

Chris,

Thanks for the great instructions. You are truly a credit to the board and Ford owners for all the help. I ordered my Tan sub on Friday. Did the discovercard thing and got free shipping and a free adapter/harness. Total was $149.95 and I was happy. Looks like it will be here tomorrow (tuesday) and hopefully I will have time Wed night to install it.

BTW:

If anyone wants to do the discover card thing and get free shipping go to this address:

www2.discovercard.com/shopcenter and go to the crutchfield scrollbar and they will give you free shipping.

Thanks all,

Will (Willderness)

Yeah,

I installed it last night. Took me about an hour from box to boom including the shaving. I agree with modifying the box and not the cupholder. Chances are when I sell my truck the next person may not want the box. Here are my thoughts on the install:

1) I took off the front levels and replaced them with the larger L-Brackets that came for the back of the sub. I screwed in the screw to the 2nd hole in the long end. This lifted the sub perfectly and I didn't have to mess with the leveling screws.

2) I also used "Zip" ties that had a screw hole built into them. I removed the two screws at the back of the sub that hold on the screen and put them through the ties.

3) On the groundwire I simply unscrewed one of the chassis mounting bolts behind the black plastic cover. Then I held the ground in there while I tightened.

3) Everything else worked out fine. I followed the instructions to a T.

I am amazed by the quality of the sound for a small amp/woofer combo. The color is not exact but I think it looks more like the armrests on the door. I like the difference and think that mine is negligible.
