I can understand both sides of the argument, but when it all comes out in the wash the law is the law and being able to see clearly is more important than looking cool.

You boys in the sunshine got to get some Ray-Ban`s for the sun when you get out of the truck anyway...

Well up there in LA ya got those ganstas that don't want to be seen

Down here ya just got the cool, kicked back hicks(talking about myself, I'm originally from Santee, maybe you heard of it, and no I didn't goto Santana)

Anyways I think I will get the 35% as just the little extra tint will cut down on heat in the car, glare, better look, all around good. Oh and I will be paying top doallar for my tint, my friend got a great tint on his stang a while back and it still looks like a factory tint today.

35%

Hello dcovell,
Had the front ones done on our SuperCrew last August. Went with the 35% tint. Didn't want to attrach any undue attention. We love the look of the 35% from both the inside and the outside. If your looking for a suggestion for a shop to check out in San Diego. Check out Tint Devil on Miramar Road. Asked around some friends from the mini-truck clubs and they all said Tint Devil was the best. Any questions, feel free to email me. (mmclaug2@san.rr.com)

I just read the post of the actual law in Ca. Someone want to clarify... I read it as saying the max you can add to the front windows is 12%, note I said add, and that the total max is 30%. How are the rest of you reading that?

mark441 - I had mine tinted at Tint Devil in Mirimar also. I had them go a little darker on the rears, and just slightly lighter in the fronts. Looks pretty good. They also did the windows on my Nissan. Have you ever talked to Veronica there? Later.....JB

Talking Veronica

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh ya,

Well actually did more staring than talking. I'd spend the money all over again just to have an excuse to spend that much time in the store. I went on a week day and it was fairly quiet. She ended up over sitting on the sofa talking with me most of the time the truck was in the back. She's very kewl !!!

And not too bad to look at either

You have to use an actual picture file, not the main gallery address. The address has to end in .jpg or .gif, whatever the picture file is.... for example, this is your main gallery image...
So you just put https://www.f150online.com/galleries...gallery717.jpg between the IMG and /IMG tags.

I put 35% on the front windows (legal in Texas), and 35 percent on the already darkened rear windows. They look real good and are not too dark to look through. I put 20 pecent on the back window, and while it keeps people from looking in, fer sure, it is really to dark for night use.

I used a fully metallic film, no dyes at all. Besides reducing glare, the full metallic 35 percent blocks 54 percent of the infrared radiation... a big plus in our hot Texas summers.

I did mine @ 35% on front 2 window's . Look's good but not blacked out. I live out in the country so at night it's hard enough to see out the 35%. Going 20% was to dark for me.

Thanks for the instructions dufunnel!

I'm not sure what the percent of the tint is that I have. The little shop I went to in San Marcos gave me four choices from lightest to darkest - which is limo tint. I went with number 3 just below limo tint.

You can see that it is not as dark as the factory smoked back windows but it gives it a uniform look. I do like it quite a bit and don't feel that it is a hazard at all, quite the contrary.

dcovell - your truck is white and it would look hot.

Here's what my 18% front and factory + 35% rear looks like.

I also have 5% on the top. Maybe you can't see it too well. Better pictures to come after I make a few more mods to my truck.

mark 441, I was down in PB one night and bumped into her and a friend. We had a few drinks and did some dancing. You're right, kind of easy on the eyes.

dcovell, if you want to get your windows done in a professional manner, with good quality film, then a good suggestion would be Tint Devil on Mirimar Road. They have pretty reasonable rates, and use good quality stuff. And then you too can meet Vero............JB
