Thumbs up

Big Daddy,
I'll have a few TurboDogs in your honor when my "Expytruck" arrives. It'll be my first full size truck and my first V8 in a truck. By the way, have you ever been to Uglesich's in New Orleans? Great oyster po-boy. I could go for a muffelatta from Central Grocery too.

kkirt,
Would love those wheels, but I would find it hard to justify the cost of them to the wife. The Screw will get other mods first (exhaust, bedcover, etc.) before wheels, I'm afraid.

------------------
(scheduled to arrive 10/30): '01 SuperCrew XLT 4x2: 5.4L; Limited Slip; Black; 5-Spoke Rims; Dark Graphite Cloth; Captain's Chairs; Power Seat; Cab Steps; Bed Extender; Moonroof.
(now for sale): '93 Ranger XLT SuperCab 4x2: 65K miles; 4.0L; Limited Slip; Black; Alum. Rims; A.C.; Power windows, mirrors, and locks; CD Player; Hard Tonneau; Running Boards.

Hooray! I say the Crew tonight. Solid black - it looks great! I have the wheels and tires on order. They should be here by Tuesday!

As a side note: unfortunately Ford Credit is not willing to negotiate like they use to. There best rate was 8.9%. Considering I have been approved from a bank on the internet at 8.2% and several credit unions are publicly offering 8.0% - I think I will try elsewhere.

Between the credit pain in the a$$ and the trade-in ($600) difference it looks like I may have to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday to pick the truck up.

Wouldn't it be nice if Ford was competitive with trade-in and credit. Car deals would be such a nicer thing to experience!!!!!

Talking

To those still waiting:
I was in Phoenix this past week (training seminar)and after 8 weeks of "clean and unscheduled" and still no VIN w/ my hometown dealer,I decided to shop around at several of the Ford dealers and found a Supercrew with the options I was looking for.
I dealt with David in the internet sales dept. at Mel Clayton Ford; the truck had just arrived on the truck Thu. night, I stopped by Fri. morning. About 2 hours later the whole deal was completed, same deal I was getting w/ my dealer. No BS, just a straightforward deal; they seemed like good people to deal with. Later that day I was drivin' it home.
My only change was that the truck is Deep Wedgewood Blue instead of the Highland Green I had ordered. (I finally got to see a truck in the green, but didn't like it as much as I had hoped I would).I wasn't really sure that I liked the Blue when I first saw it, but the more of them I see, the more I like it.

?????? I thought it was shipped rail to NY then trucked to Mass.

Is it shipped via rail twice?
Did they drop it or lose it, is being reshipped?

Red face

Once again let me remind you - your truck status could be "clean and unscheduled" - be happy it is on its way to you. A few days more is better than a few more months.
Last time I bothered to check I got the all too familiar " as of October 12 your vehicle is clean and unscheduled it has not been serialized at this time. At this rate I will get my 2001 in 2001.

I am new here, but understand your confusion. VOPC said our truck was built 9/26 and had an arrival date of 10/16. Then that was changed to 10/12. It is the 17th and we still haven't seen it yet. Today VOPC says as of 10/14 the truck is at the ramp. Called the dealer and he hasn't seen it. Hope for some good news tomorrow.

Question

Just checked VOPC again....figure this! As of 10/15 your vehicle has been shipped via rail with an expected delivery date of week of.....10/12.

This is reminding me of a refrigerator we ordered last Nov. They would call and tell us it was shipped and set a delivery date and it never showed! It took 4 months before the thing ever got here! It was coming out of Memphis and the big joke got to be that "Elvis" had our frig. Last night a friend suggested he now has our Super Crew!

Meanwhile we will be trying to keep our sense of humor, and calling the dealer soon as they open!

Just heard from the dealer and it is here!!!!! Going to Nashville and get it Thursday or Friday morning. (got to go to the airport early Friday morning, so may just be able to combine the trips.)

Ordered 8/23, built 9/26 ETA 10/12 and made it to music city 10/18! Thats right at 8 weeks.

I have heard of 30 days in the hole but 8 days on a train? Comeon Ford get your poo poo together. Patiently(not) waiting for the message to change. "As of, October 13, your vehicle has been shipped via railcarrier-ETA week of October 28"- Hence the question-Since when a week starts on Saturday. Oh well have the 92 F-150 sold and waiting on some good news so I can close the deal and get on with my life. Later a lonely BD. sniff sniff sob sob.

I ordered on 9/1 and the dealer said it would take 6-8 wks. Then they called me on 9/25 and said it was being built. On 9/29 they called me to pick it up. The dealer was only 4 hours from the factory. I had them get me a CA emmisions/LEV version so I could not buy off the lot. They had a bunch fully loaded just sitting there. He even got me the Goodyear tires.

Picked up the truck Friday. Love it!! You won't be disapointed. Haven't found any damage and don't have any complaints.

Bought at Town and Country in Nashville TN. $200 under invoice. Sales person was Randy Shepler, fleet manager. Very easy to do business with.

Hope you see your truck soon!
