4x4
EDIT: Prompted by but not in response to John in Cal's post below.
I recall soon after I met my wife (approx 16 yrs. ago) she made the statement "Someday I want a big 4X4 truck. I like sitting way up there looking down at the other cars,it makes me feel like powerfull or something." Well 16 years, three kids, a few crappy low paying jobs and a Honda civic that saved us a ton of money later...I spot the SuperCrew on Ford's website. I tell her that I found a truck that I think would be perfect for her, she loves it immediatly. So we search for any info we can find which in January this year was practically nothing. Well that didn't matter... she picks the color and all the options she wanted and we order one anyway. It arrived the last week of March. Wow! Its big! Its tall! Its beautiful! Its hers! Ten thousand miles later you never see a happier person than my wife when she climbs up into that truck!

One 4X4 SuperCrew 30K... the smile on her face, priceless.

Yes,its a sappy post. No, I dont care.

4x2, why pay the insurance when 90% of 4x4's never leave the pavement anyway...
And before the flames start, yes they're worth it where it snows.

4X2, really considered both options, however had an expedition 4X4 never used it. If it is that bad on the roads my butt is at home. Plus they keep the roads in really good shape around here.

4X2
(less insurance, less maintenance, less stickers, less payments).

Anyway, we looked at it, but we could not see taking a 30,000 dollar vehicle through the mud. I do like 4X4's and might get a cheap one some day (when cash is plentyfull) but for now we are very happy with our 4x2.

4x2 Arizona Beige with DP WW Blue Accent on Order. Couldn't bring myself to pay for it but I didn't realize that insurance is higher on 4x4s. How much difference is there?
