What the hell is with the tiny front windows!?!?
Why did it take so long for Ford to make the front windows on the Supercrew larger. I cant be the only one that has a problem with this. I only noticed it the other day. My buddy and I were fighting about the size of my front windows on my 06. This is my first F-150 Just got it a couple weeks ago. And he is a Ford guy as well. So he started looking at extended cabs around the same year. The next day he said dude I think that your window is smaller than the ext. cab I looked at yesterday. I told him he was nuts. Low and F-in behold the damn ext. cab window is six inches longer than the Crew. No wonder I turn my head left and look right at the damn B pillar. Why the hell did it take them so long to fix this problem. I went and checked out an 09 the other day and the windows on the Crew are now bigger. Damnit! Sorry about the rant guys, just something that has me miffed about the new truck I love so much!
It was just a compromise of cab/rear seat space. Do you want Dodge Ram Quad Cab sized rear doors just to have a larger front window? Either you use the rear seat and want good access to it or you buy the Supercab and get the larger front seat, until 2009. The 2009 Supercrew cab is about 6" longer than previous models which allows for longer doors/windows.
The shorter front doors are the reason I didn't get a crew cab when I bought my '04. As much as I hate opening those supercab doors with cars parked on each side I would have hated looking at that pillar even more. Now I need to get an '09 crew cab.

Hey Dubfx....
A while back, I inadverantly got a few guys a little riled up by voicing MPO about liking my Supercab better than the Supercrews. I just think a little more bed, and a little less cab looks more like a "truck".
But since you should mention this thing about the door / window length of the Supercrews vs. Supercabs..... Yes. I figured this out quite some time back. And that's "yet another thing" I like better about my Supercab :-)
But to be honest (for any of you Supercrew owners who are going to hate me for my statements above) I have to admit, your Supercrews have a mid-pillar between the doors which makes your sidewalls WAY more solid than the sidewalls in my Supercab. When I close the doors in mt Supercab, it's like the door slams shut, then continues to flex inward another 1/4" before springing back out. Kind of lame. I don't see how my Supercab could be near as safe in a side impact collision, as your Supercrews either. Hmmmm.
Anyway... yea'... your doors are too short. Sorry. ;-)
Peace,
Fish

I "upgraded" to a Screw in preparation for starting a family. The Scab was great as a first truck, but the back seat was useless for people since I'm tall. Taking other adults with became an option. Then, we started a family. Reverse facing child seats are no problem with even the old Screw back seats, but a Scab just would not work. We'd have to drive another type of vehicle instead. That's why I love my truck. It can do so much, from family hauler, to trailer pulling, to night on the town.
For those that buy trucks based on looks, enjoy life. Life only gets more complicated.

Thats the reason I went with the Screw. I have three boys so the Scab would have been a bad choice. Dont get me wrong I love my truck. I just get annoyed when I try to look to my left and have to lean forward.
I'll have to check out the B pillar again, but I don't remember having any problem with it in my 2003 Screw. I'm 6'4 with long legs, so I have the seat all the way back. I have had other vehicles that I look right at the B pillar, but I don't think I have that problem in my truck.
