nope... just bolted right up and didnt have to move anything around. when you say winch system do you mean what brand?

we used a 12000 pound warn winch.

I knew it was a warn, and knew it was a 10000 pounder, but warn has soo many winches, didn't know if there was just one.

gators- from the look of the picture in your sig it is hard to tell. i would have to do some research and i find out. most likely no. but that doesnt mean you cant fab up your skid plate to fit around the winch. shoot me some pics under your front bumper with the plate so i can tell ya if my kit would work.

little low?

i haven't seen the rest of the kits out there but, just wondering, why didn't you built the mount so that the fairlead would be comming out of the bottom grill? it would have been higher, meaning less likely to be swampped in water and mud when you need it. maybe all kits locate the winch where you have it. just wondering. lemme know.

I noticed you had a body lift, I don't know if it would work that well with a truck without one. The bumper would be far lower compared to the frame horns.

yes, the body lift helps. but i am almost 99.9% positive that the kit would work. anything is possible

yes, i am building more. i have put 2 on so far on stock f150's. these are not cheap to make, but well worth it. i also use thicker steal then what most aftermarket companys are using. so if you want to set something up shoot me a pm.

and the reason i set the whinch under the bumper is because, if you look at the pictures it is a very tight fit where it is already. this is a 12000 pound winch though. you could probably stuff a 8000 pounder under there, but whats the point?

Interesting idea. However, in a non body lifted truck, the winch will hit the trans cooler, and bumper brackets. I tried something similar a few months back. However your design DOES give me ideas to work from....
