I've had Explorer's for the past 10 years and this year decided to get the F-150 FX4 fully loaded.

The 5.5 looks great IMO.

Now I have to decide what mods to do.

It's preferrence

I think that both 5.5 and the 6.5 have their advantages and disadvantages. Personally, I went with the 6.5 because I haul around canopies, which when folded they just fit inside the bed. As for as looks I think that they both look good depending on the look that you are going for. If you want a good looking street machine go with the 5.5. If you looking for that rugged, outdoor, off-road look you can go either way.

I am gonna have to say that I like the look of the 6.5. Esp. on a F250. On the F150 either look great. But I will say when I had my F150 SCREW, The bed exteneder came in handy alot.

My first SCrew was a 2001 with the 5.5 foot bed. I constantly found I needed more space. So, this time around I got the 6.5, and LOVE it!

Parking is fine, and it still fits in my garage.

I have always like the looks of a 5.5 better than a 6.5, but, I bought a new 6.5 a few months ago because I haul quads and it was the only closeout '06 left on the lot in Feb 07. Now that I have been driving it for awhile, I am used to the longer bed and it looks good. The 6.5 is a little harder to park than my 01 S-Cab shorty was but the extra cab space and the large bed make it worth it.
