SuperCrew storage space?

SuperCrew storage space?

Got the Audiophile option so between the subwoofer and the jack I have no usuable space under my back seat. With the power options on the front two seats I don't really want to put anything under those or I'm sure it would get crimped eventually. I don't see any way for the back seat back to fold down, and it looks like its already flush up against the rear of the cab with no space behind there even if it did fold down.

I was putting stuff into the truck that I had pulled from my old vehicle tonight. RI and MA Streetmap Books fit great in the map pockets behind the seat, but then I had a couple larger items that I did not know where to put them since they don't fit into the center console or the door bins, specifically a 12v mini-compressor and my jumper cables. Anyone have any SuperCrew storage secrets to share?

I've got the same problem. I go to school in College Station, TX, and I used to have my basic tools and stuff like that in the trunk of my car. Now that I have a truck, I don't really have anywhere to put them. I'm thinking about getting a tool box for the bed.

Maybe you should look into getting some sort of storage box to put in the bed of your truck.

Yep, it sure does seem funny to have such a big truck and not have anywhere to put stuff, lol. I am planning on getting my bed Line-Xed and buying a fiberglass tonneau. I don't really need or want a tool box as the only tools I carry with me are this basic auto stuff. All my other tools lives in my garage or my cellar since I only use them around the house and not for work. Last pickup I had was a regular cab, which gave me your usual space between the seat base and the rear of the cab. Used to keep all this type of stuff there... Be nice if the rear sit moved like a front bench. I know it doesn't need to since there are no peddles to adjust for, and putting it as far back as possible gives maximum leg room. Fact is though, everyone I've had yet in the back has had more than enough leg room. Would be nice to move the rear bench up and gain some storage space behind it like in a regular cab. I guess I'll just throw a milk crate on the floor in back and stick this stuff in it. I'd just rather have it out of sight though...

Are you sure the back seat upper sections don't fold down to access storage areas behind? No levers down near the floor to release them?
My 02 has fold down seat backs and two storage areas behind panels that open.
One has the jack and tire iron with spare space, the other I put a light blanket and a tool bag in.

In the new style f-150's the backseat folds up instead of down like in the older models.

As mentioned, above, my '02 has storage behind the back seat. I also put a tool box in the bed, for storage. It would be hard to do without it, now that I am used to it. It fits across the bed rails and is big enough for a 24 qt. cooler and all my tools & "stuff". Good luck!

I too noticed this issue with my '05 SCREW - for such a large vehicle - no storage space for the basic tools, bungies, tie down straps, etc. If you don't have audiophile (sub) there are aftermarket plastic underseat storage bin - but if you have the audiophile (I do) you're out of luck. I decided to relocate the jack assembly - put the handle behind the subwoofer box - fits snugly and then I mounted the jack above the spare tire between two frame rails underneath the bed. I lowered the spare and then using spray adhesive applied Dynamat T.A.C. Mat where the jack would mount against the frame rails. To help make sure the jack does not slip or make any noise. As an extra precaution I took two very large diameter zip ties and zip tied the jack as well. Raise the spare and you are good to go.......some guys have relocated the jack underhood which would be an option as well.

I then picked up some particle board and built an enclosure for the space where the jack had been located. Then went by an upholstery shop and for $5.00 purchsed some matching carpet scraps he had and covered the particle board. Then using a couple of brackets I attached the carpet covered front and side pieces underseat. I now have a storage "cubby" that looks factory, and fits flush under the seat. I have a small toolkit, bungies, spiderbungy for the bed and tie down straps stored under there.....just the kinds of things you need in a truck - but don't want to stick in the center console!

It sounds like that's the way to go. Got any pics?

This is exactly why I built a sub box for my center console - that way the area under the rear seat is free and clear.

Yep, but I have a factory installed sub as does HotLap. No way it'll fit in the center console or am I even planning on moving it. The jack relocation is doable. So I'd still like to see pictures of HotLap's passenger side under seat box mod if they're available.
