New to Forum

I'm new to the forum and just wanted to say hey. I just bought an `01 Supercrew with 28,000 on it. Had to trade in my `03 Wrangler though. Ouch that hurt!

That is a very low mileage '01 truck. Probably in excellent condition. Sorry to hear that you got rid of your Jeep, but this truck should drive and handle better, has more interior room, towing capacity, and probably gets a similar gas mileage. I looked at Jeeps one time and then I realized that the only thing that they are better for is off-roading. I don't off-road that often, so it was an easy choice.

I'm a huge fan of Jeep vehicles, but I think you'll find your Super Crew quite a bit more comfortable. Jeeps just don't seem to have anywhere to rest your arms while driving.

My wife just traded in her '04 Liberty on a '05 Explorer Sport Trac. It'll be the first time in 10 years there hasn't been a Jeep of one kind or another in the drive way. I miss the Jeeps, but the Super Crew and Sport Trac (Mini-Super Crew) are a lot more spacious on the interior.

Your new truck isn't even broken in yet. Hard to find an '01 with that low miles.

If memory serves me correctly, the 3.55 ratio is standard for the Super Crew and Super Cab. The 3.73 rear end was an optional upgrade.

Both were offered in non-limited slip and limited slip. In my neck of the woods, it seems the 4X2's typically come with the 3.55 and the 4X4's come with the 3.73.

Is that a Dana 60 rear for the 4x4?

Welcome and enjoy your new truck! Not much help I know...but my '05 4x4 SCREW has the optional 3:73. The axle ratio should be listed on the VIN plate and I'm betting someone here will help you decode if you'll post it

Axle Codes

non-limited slip

X27 – 3:31
X19 – 3:55
X26 – 3:73
X25 – 4:10

limited slip

H9 – 3:55
B6 – 3:73
B5 – 4:10

Look near the bottom of the driver side door pillar for a white sticker. It has the axel code on it among many other things, paint color, build date, etc, etc, etc
