New Shoes - 315/70/17
Just got my new tires mounted today. Still have a little room on the torsion bars(lots of room on the passenger/2 threads on driver side) and had to trim a little off of the front valence. I love the look. Here are some pics.

I hope that these pics help with folks trying to decide on these tires. I really like the look of the tire and I have enough room for everyday things. I will rub pretty bad if I stuff a tire going through a ditch or something but overall the look is killer to me. It also gets my brother fired up that even with 6" under his 2003 GMC Duramax he will rub with a 315/75/16. I LIKEY!!
I tried emailing you, but it didn't go through. I am going to be getting those tires for my 2003 screw. I will be mounting them on stock rims justl ike you. I want to know if you encounter any serious rubbing? Any drawbacks? Thanks!!

2020,
I love the look of those 315's, but you are definatley going to have a problem with only a 7.5 inch wheel.
One thing is the possibility of the bead popping off. If you off road at all, this could definatley happen, and would be disasterous on the trail.
The second thing is, if you do not off road and drive it on the road most of the time, you are going to have premature tire wear. By putting such a wide tire on a narrow wheel, you will wear the center of the tire out. I will try to illustrate. By putting those tires on the stock 7.5 inch wheel, you have pulled the bead of the tire too far in. With the bead pinched inward, the edges of the tread have been pulled downward, leaving the center of the tire higher than the edge. Instead of a flat tread surface, you now have a more round footprint.
I have the same tires, but stayed with the stock size. I would imagine 285's are the widest you could go, without having the aforementioned problems.

Well so far I have had no problems(except wanting to re-gear to 4.56's). I do not feel that the tires will wear any more prematurely on this rim versus any other and I have not had any concerns of beed popping so far. My initial concern was problems if I was airing the tires down for beach riding, but I do not see any problems with that either.
No worries.
No worries.
I want those tires for my truck, i think it will make it look completely different, but i keep hearing you shouldn't do it. It looks like in your photos you have atleast an inch or more on either side of the front tire.. Is that true? Right now i am stock with cranked torsion bars, so i think they should work, but it is always good to have reassurance. Also, how long have you had the tires on your truck?
Thanks so much! Your help is appreciated!

If you already have your torsion bars cranked and don't mind trimming a little bit of the plastic off of the lower valence then go for it. Whenever this post started is approximately the time I put the tires on the truck. I would guess approx. 3k miles now. I have no complaints with the tires on the stock rims with the stock lift.
