Super Charger, what upgrades do I have to do first?

I currently have the below mods done to my truck. I am really looking into a supercharger because my buddy has a Lightning and I want to be able to hang with him.
Money isnt too big of a problem as long as we are not talking 10k or so. If someone hear knows of what I need in order to be basically bulletproof I would appreciate it greatly!

These are the future mods to come not including my current mods... Before the Super Charger.

Mass AIR FLOW SENSOR -GRANATELLI 397.69 10-15HP 20TORQUE
ELECTRIC FAN -FLEX-A-LITE 403.03 12HP 16TORQUE
POWER PULLIES -ASP 210.00 8-10HP 10TORQUE
HEADERS -JBA 510.65 15-20HP 26TORQUE
20" BOYD CODDINGTON -NEMESIS www.boydcoddington.com

Isn't the '98 5.4 rated at 235hp. I think you have a ways to go to hang with a newer Lightning. I would guess you would not be too far off from 10k. It definitley can be done though.
It looks like you have a good start on your list. I'm no expert, so I will let the more "auto literate" folks give you the details. I'm qurious to see what poeple think.

Check with Crash! about what mods to do, but you look okay from what I know. Just one thing, I know it is not recommended that you change pulleys. The aftermarket s/c's are designed to work with stock pulleys. That does not mean that you can't run them, but it is not recommended. Based on my experience and knowledge, reducing the parasitic losses (fan, water pump, etc.) are your best way of increasing HP and TQ. So the electric fan and a high flow water pump should be pretty good bang-4-buck investments for a supercharged application. Just my two cents.

Good Luck!

5.4L produces 260HP stock

The 4.6L produces 230HP. Thats why i went with the 5.4L because it produces 30 more HP. Its the same engine that the lightnings run, except for the L engines use more beefed up stuff. I plan on replacing my Tranny anyhow just to make sure I dont break more stuff than necessary. But I will try and contact crash to see if he can give me more insite.

Im Sorry

4.2-liter V6 producing 210 horsepower and 255 foot-pounds of torque, or a pair of overhead-cam Triton V8s,
a 4.6-liter of 220 hp and 290 lb.-ft.,
and a 5.4-liter of 235 hp and 330 lb.-ft

I cant believe they only produce 235HP. Why so little?? Check this out...

Then comes the 5.7-liter V8, a real worker with 255 hp and 330 lb.-ft. of torque. Thats the chevy. Wouldnt a chevy with a SC kill a lightning?

Cool

HI!... The 4.2 v-6 only make 205H.P. The "97" - "98" 5.4's made 235H.P. The "99" to current 5.4's make 260H.P due to "P.I" heads, cams, intake, and high flow exhaust manifolds. The "97" - "2000" 4.6's made 220H.P. The "2001" to current 4.6's make 231H.P due to "P.I" heads and intake.

I think Neal could write a book on all the mods he's done. (wink wink, nudge nudge, say nomore). If you did a search for them, you'd probably spend a fort's night reading them all.

HI!... 4X4PWR : Yes my truck is N/A. That 14.52E.T was done on stock 30 inch tall street tires and I burned them off, all the way through 1ST gear. I've currently fixed my fuel starvation problem and am probably running extremely low 14's if not very high 13's right now. I've got a few more mods to bolt on and want to DYNO tune the truck for AIR/FUEL ratio's before I go to the dragstrip next. I definately needs some slicks before I go next. I'll definately be in the 13's next time to the track. I know this for sure. If you want, click on some of the links in my lower SIG. One is of vids at the track and burnouts, and the other shows all my mods in my photo gallery.

Hey there. I actually have all your movies already . I have been looking at your truck for quite some time now... I really need to get some pictures of my truck so you can see how far I have come from my dorky stock look. I also am hoping to do a few more mods but I want to stay under warantee so im not gonna do any headers, heads, tranny, etc... Once my 3 years is up you defiantly know what im doing though! I really like those gauge pods.. Did those come with the gauges already in the pods or did you have to purchase those seperatly? I am hoping to get my truck to do high 14's here after a few more mods are done. Do you think this is possible? Anyhow, thanks for all the info. I plan on getting my Billet grille soon after I get my truck painted here in about a week. I should be able to steal my dads camera by then and take some pictures so I can post em.
