paid 4700. for mine at dealers price here in town, if you can get it cheaper you got a great price--take it--no lag at low end. no problems so far in performance--very happy with it. the part number is 300-520.

ati
i also have a 2001 harley f-150, was also wanting to supercharge it so i am currently experimenting with my trans-am ram air. i just put an ati procharger on it. did the install myself but am taking it to a speed shop with a dyno for final tuning tommorrow. ati seems to have a nice unit and it looks like the install would be alot easier on the f-150. total cost for the trans-am project was about 4,200. that included extra's like gages, thermostat, etc.

My opinion for any supercharger would be a Whipple. They have more than just a stupid name, they are supposed to produce up to 60% extra horsepower, and be very powerful at low and mid RPM's. I'm planning on supercharging my truck before February, and I am going with a Whipple. I haven't checked for extactly what the output is, but they got the new Denali up to 450 hp.

I have been wondering about doing this to my truck and I have got some questions. Now keep this in mind, I drive my SCrew about 30,000 miles/year, mostly highway. Don't race it, but like to get on the gas pedal once or twice a day. Now my questions:
1) How much does the SC affect your gas mileage?
2) Does it put extra wear and tear on the engine? I have read some of the L forums and they are always posting subjects on blown engines or replacing blowers.
3) What SC would be best for someone who wants a little uumph now and then, tows a 5000 lb ski boat every now and then, but does not want to get 5MPG?
Thanks for any input.

Crash - thanks for replying. One more question (maybe more) - I in no way consider myself a mechanic, but I am pretty handy with tools and home projects and I do know a bit about cars. Would a SC be something I could install myself (with a helper) or would you recommend having a shop do it for me?? And if I were to do it myself, how long would it take??
Any recommendations on an SC based on the info I gave previously??
