I have a 09 scab 4X4 with a 5.4 been looking into a super charger I like the looks of the Whipple setup and the price is ok but they show a kit for a 08 5.4 and a 10 6.2 but nothing for a 09. What is the difference between a 08 and 09 5.4 that has no kit offered for it. I have also looked at the Edelbrock and Roush setups but think I would rather go with the Whipple. It is a daily driver and I tow with it so mild boost is all I want esp solid bottom end torque. Also can I get this setup with out ruining my gas mileage clearly i understand if I push the pedal it will burn more gas but how much will it kill my daily driving mpg?

To answer your question, the 175 AX uses what appears to be the same case as the 2.3 and displaces 2.9 L. All I have to work on is the engineering drawing.
found the tech drawings on the whipple site... the discharge openings are diff.
size between the 140 and the 175 not buy much though (2.5 mm longer from front to back on the 175) so the bolt holes would not line up. the 175 case is longer,
but they are the same with....

I highly doubt the 2.9 will fit I've got one on my cobra the snout is much shorter than a 2.3 Whipple on a cobra

The 04-08 kit will bolt on your truck. They do not offer tuning for it so you wil have to have custom tuning. The Saleen and Magnacharger will also fit but need custom tuning. Search you tube and you will see 09-10 trucks with these blowers on them.

but what im saying is the bottom of the 140 and the 175 are way diff.
in how thay bolt to the mid plate. you would have to drill and tap new holes,
not even sure you could do that, prob have to take it to a machine shop and have it fitted...

Right. As long as they are reasonably close you should be able to fab up a mid plate to make it happen. Looking at a 650rwhp Lightning (93 octane, much more on other fuels) earlier today with a 2.3 Whipple makes me think the trouble isn't worth it. 650rwhp on 2v heads would be much more on a 3v.
Take notes on his mods below the video
