Hi all, I have been following with attention the fact that several members are rebuilding their engines with forged internals, with the intention, of course, to ensure the life of the engine and can go more boost. Now, even though I've been researching a particular topic, I have not got information about it, I mean a stroked 5.4L engine for this. A piston 3.7 "raise the engine up to approximately 5.8 l, and perhaps would gain about 30 or more HP, I'm not sure this number. This is where the information becomes inaccurate because, I'm not sure you can ue do, and then, if you can make the stroked, how much would have this engine life.more the limit?, as I will be able to apply. I can use it as a daily driving truck and have about 15 psi of Boost?, or what generating a 3-pulley ". Another big concern I have is about the type of piston to use. The manufactured by Manley, for DSS, the Street PRO? , And rings?, What material? Etc.. . If I enlarge the diameter of the cylinder to the new piston, what will happen to the head?. Quč you think?.

 

I have a stroked 5.4 3v to a 5.8 I daily drive mine when I'm at home I get about 18 mpg
And have ran a best of 12.8 @105 mph in the 1/4 mile. Ill be going to the track again in about a month
and I'm expecting to run mid to low 12s N/A. I love my stroked 5.4 and would do it again in a heartbeat.

 

What crank do you use? A 4.6 one?

 

I'm using a kellog crank made specially for paschal performance,same shop johnny lighting gets his cranks for his stroked lightning.

 

Mr. Javier Garcia, which means that to make the stroked to 3.7 "should replace the crankshaft, I thought it was was a work machine, the piston enlarged to 3.7" using the same OEM crankshaft and forged connecting rods. What type of piston is using?. I have a Whipple Supercharger 8 psi, and have been researching for the next year, do work of forged rods and pistons and put a pulley 3 ", which is my limit set, but was certain to use the same crankshaft. Upon stroked, knows how HP got?. their heads are OEM or you did some work. believe I am remembering and, in some post, having read your engine stroked, I think I speak for a gain of 60 Hp on the wheel, if I assume 20% of losses in transmission would be gaining 48 rwhp, if this is correct, with 8 psi Whipple I have about 450 RWHP, in the best case.

Like I said I love my stroked engine and I'm the fastes N/A ford f150 where I live and the only f150 the Chevy guys fear LOL.

 

does it means that GT500 engines (5.8) are just a F150 5.4 engine with a 3.7 piston?

 

With an aluminum 5.4 block u can stroke it to a 6.2L like johnny lightning did with a billet cranck
from paschal performance but $$$$$$$$$$$$ LOL.
