I highly, highly, doubt that......

There is a lot of PR fluff out there, reminds me of the GM 454 SS versus 350 SB with the sport package....

whole bunch of marketing on how fast the 454 SS was....1/4 mile times, etc...in reality when tested the 350 SB was faster than the 454 SS in 0-60 & 1/8 mile....yeah, the 454 was faster in the 1/4, but the mouse motor would out-run it in a stoplight to stoplight run any day...and handling...there was no comparison, the extra weight on the front end reduced the handling............

Yea I'm not to impressed but a livernois tune and awd and boost launch would make it a stop light beast.

It's the wave of the future. I'm impressed. I'd drive it.

Gone are the days of the FI showroom v8 supertrucks. Better get used to it, or make your own.

I wonder why they put 4.10s in it. Fastest eco trucks that I've seen have 3.55 gears.

Not sure if I would go this route, or just get a 5.0...

How strong are these motors? Do they have good rods and pistons in them? Can they hold 600hp?

They run out of direct injection fuel pump before they blow up. The sho guys have gone to meth to make up for lack of fuel. I don't know of any aftermarket companies making higher flow pumps either. I think it also requires a lot of engine disassembly too but I'm not sure on that.

JLP has that 11 second 5.0 with a tvs I think. I would go that route

problem is that ford hasent made the lightning in almost 10 years.

most people do not want to go buy a $35k to $40k truck then drop $10k on mods to still not be as fast as a stock mustang or corvette. the tremor is a truck that anyone can go down, buy, drive to work everyday and be faster than your average truck...that is it. man.... way to many people over thinking this.

btw, i like that ford is going outside the lines, but i wont be buying one. i need the 4 doors of my 2012 f150 harley davidson and my low 11 z06 tickles my go fast thing.

Well, I just checked the build & price - a stripped out XL reg cab long bed 4x2 with EB stickers at $27345 including destination. This is with a 3.15 open rear. Add $420 for a 3.15 or 3.31 e-locker, $470 for a 3.55 e-locker, and $2345 (this INCLUDES both HD payload and max tow) for a 3.73 LS. (Max tow in this config is 11300 and payload is 3100) No 4.10's available.

This is obviously a work configuration, not a sport configuration. I see it as a low-cost alternative to a F-250 for businesses. The Tremor looks like it's being positioned as a "personal" sport truck with amenities.

Whether you like it or not, being that it will be limited production like the Raptor, I bet Ford sells every one they make at sticker, and I doubt that there will be any A/X/Z/D plan available. Ford had no problem selling all the 5.4 Raptors they built.

I never get tired of watching that JLP run. Smooth as silk, and quick.
