Pulled the Whipple off...

Time for a rebuild. Need some input.on where to get it done. It's leaking oil from the front and I'm getting a scraping noise above 2500rpm's that sounds like a dial up modem. This started a while back and I thought I had a pulley going bad but it seems it's the blower. Regardless I took it off and examined it this morning. Screws look fine other than a few minor scratches. I can hear the bearings are not smooth as silk when I turn it by hand. So i found one company online who does this work http://www.embreemachine.com/
Gonna call Whipple as well just to compare pricing. While it's down I'm going to put Timken bearings in all the idler pulleys and the tensioner pulley. Any suggestions on places to do the rebuild would be appreciated.

No idea. I bought it used from a guy in Fla. I have put 30k on it. No telling how many miles he put on it.

My front seal leaked but I replaced it myself and adjusted the belt tension to let a little pressure off. I know a few lightning guys who've had rear bearings go and trash the blower. Good thing you pulled it when you did

Thats actually how this all started. Slow leak up front and i would top it off as needed. Bad idea. Should've just fixed it right away. So now its headed to Stiegemeier for the work not the folks i listed above. Looking forward to hearing what Bob has to say and finding out if he can get any more power out of it. Gonna do a plug change, fuel filter change, oil and filter change, port the intake where the the tb bolts on, and install the QA1 shocks up front while the blower gets an overhaul. I should still be able to make it to Troyers 1st week of Nov. for a maf sensor upgrade and some dyno time. Then headed to Dragging Rights at Rockingham on Nov 19. Fingers crossed all goes as planned.

I would do an IAT relocate to runner 5 while the intake is off too. You can get all the stuff at VMP through Justin

I was going to recommend Stiegemeier. Looks like I'm a little late...lol
I sent my KB there to be polished, but they told me they do not port a twinscrew/autorotor blower. They said nobody dose.
I would just leave that alone if I were you. Turn up the boost if ya need more power.

Doing the IAT relocate to cylinder 5. Blower will be at Stiegemeier by Thursday. Thanks for the recommendations. If its just bearings and seals Stiegemeier is going to be quite a bit cheaper than the others plus all work is done in house. 2-4 day turn around is a huge plus!
