Pulled the Whipple off...
Well the blower came back this morning. Ported, rebuilt and ready for action. Gonna bolt it on tomorrow. Taking some time this afternoon to paint it and clear coat. So far I have painted the intake, thermostat housing, water crossover, alt, and tb. Polished the fuel rail and heater supply tubing from the crossover I painted. Everthing is looking good. Also installed the ACT sensor in runner 5, relocated my egt sensor to cylinder 8 one inch from the head, and installed a fitting in runner 4 for the vac/boost gauge. While the paint cures on the blower i'm going to install new plugs gapped to .035, change the oil, fuel filter, and port the blowers intake tube to 80mm to match the tb. Headed to Troyers Thursday!
Sure will. They cleaned up the bores, nice and smooth. Rounded all the edges. It may be good for a max of 10hp. Not worth pulling the blower for but since it was already apart why not drop $175 to make it flow better and smoother. That was my thought anyway.
There coming soon. Had to take them with the good camera. Cell pic wasnt any good. I'll get em downloaded a lil later this evening.
Yes they do Windsor. I was very pleased. I also polished the motor on the tb, the sight glass surround & fill cap for the oil on the sc, trim ring between the body of the blower and fwd case, and the tubing from the water crossover. Thank god there was no other damage. The bearing was just making noise and of course the seal was leaking. And I feel pretty certain that the bearing noise is a result of low oil. I should have replaced the seal as soon as it started leaking. All said and done it was $570.
No that wouldn't increase blower displacement. Just helps air flow slightly. If its 10hp that'd be awesome! Everything looks good!! I ****ed out and caught my seal leak instantly and whipple sent me a new seal and bottle of oil free but I did buy it new so it was under warranty. Good luck at Mikes, if you don't make 470 get some blower grind cams
