how many miles are on your truck now? I am at 64k and just paid off all my credit cards. I want a blower like you wouldn't believe! I have been in limbo since I bought my lariat last year because I wanted to be "responsible" and wait for the toys. I just ordered the Edge CS and my nerf bars. i watched a lightening drop the hammer on the freeway this weekend and damn near had to change my pants! The guy in the BMW 335 had no idea what the hell just happened! The 335 is no slouch either! Anyway man, congrats on the new toy. Make sure you update us with moments of speed!!!!!!!!
I just recently went over 70K, it had 64K when I bought it in June '10, but I was out of the country for 5 months and have been out of town about 2 months now. I haven't been home to put any miles on it.

Looks like I may be getting some unexpected time at home that will allow me to get the blower installed. The only problem may be JDM getting me an SCT tune and time to squeeze me in for a dyno tune in my limited timeframe.

Ordered

I ordered the JDM upgrade kit and paid the "rush" fee to ensure I'd have it in time. The dyno tune may have to wait though. I also ordered the their e-fan set-up. I know I may get some comments about this, but I like the fact it is an OEM set-up and I'm real big on keeping things OEM if practical.

The Mosaleen idler and Krankvents are on their way too!

Now I just need to get home and start "wrenching".

Did you end up getting the 3.2 or 3.0 pulley?

Actually, it wasn't talked about. I assumed I was getting the 3.2 pulley since that is one mentioned in kit. I will call them back today to check. I think I'll stick with 3.2 since I don't want plan on going any further than this.

I didn't plan on going as far on my truck as I did...

I once thought that 400rwhp would be plenty and awesome...

Then i thought that about 450rwhp...

Then I thought that at around 500rwhp...

Never ending process.

Water pump?

I have a question regarding the water pump. The instruction manual mentions changing out the pump for the cast iron unit. Has this been proven to be necessary? I did not plan on changing it out, but will IF it is absolutely needed. What have you guys done and what is your opinion?

Yeah, Pg. 14B "Retrieve new water pump (iron) (A) and install using the 4 stock water pump fasteners. 18 +/- 2.7 Lb-ft".

Install!!!

Well, I started the install today (later than expected due to other obligations, but started nonetheless). I have already run into a "small" problem of not having ALL the parts (three studs and alternator idler pulley), but may have solved this; I find out tomorrow.

I'm also a little disappointed in the upgrade kit. They have replaced the billet elbow with a plastic housing that doesn't look very much different from the airbox that is being removed. I will be giving them a call in the morning.

Also, my truck already has the "large" WP pulley, so the one I got is not needed. Anyone need a pulley CHEAP!?

I'll post updates as they occur.

George

Your truck came factory with that big one? Ford does some weird things...

Lets see some pictures of that plastic elbow. I'm just curious..

Update

Well, I'm out of parts!!!

I just need to do all the wiring, fill with coolant and load the tune!

And yes, it came factory with the big pulley. I'll post a pic of the "adapter" (elbow) tomorrow. I called JDM about it; they said they changed to this about two years ago. It is actually an OEM part from an Expedition or Excursion.

Well, I'm off to do a little running around and then I'll be back on it later.

Finished!!!!

Well, it runs!!

I'll take it out tomorrow and see how it does. My e-fans won't be in for another two weeks, so who knows when I'll get them installed. I did not put the KrankVents in yet, so that still has to be done. Right now the PCV system is set-up "stock".

I also have the Saleen gauge pod that I still need to install, but am looking for the harness that connects to the TMAP harness if anyone has a lead.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to my threads and gave advice, it made the switch to the dark side much less scary!!

Pics tomorrow, I promise!
