Going to find out how well she does this weekend. I have 3 hygrometers. So I'm gonna place one in the box, one close to the box under the hood and one outside. I will do this after driving the truck for a while and letting it sit and idle for about ten minutes. After 10 minutes of idle I'm gonna place the hygrometers in said positions and allow her to run 3 minutes longer and then check readings. I can't wait to see the results.

You have the box sealed, I really don't think that is necessary as once the vehicle is moving the under hood temps will fall drastically. I ran several 4" flexible inlets to the air intake area on both my Lightning and '03 Cobra from the front air damn area which I believe helped supply sufficent cold air to an open AF1 intake.

And I am looking at sometime in June to make the trip to Covington.Just as soon as I return from China.

That is what I have seen in the extreme heat via my Scangauge. My intake is a DIY improved (?) copy of the Chickenears intake sold for the Lightnings. The iats will creep up 125* at a long stop light and then go down to ambient + a few degrees after 1/2 mile in motion.

How would something like this do in dust, mud, and water. Ive got my 95 but im extremely interested in trying the same thing. Why not have semi-forced induction by putting the inlets someplace they can have air hit them at high speeds?

TESTING RESULTS!!! Drove the truck for a total of 14 miles. First 10 were city the last 4 were highway. Pulled in the driveway and never shut her down. I forgot to grab my third hygrometer so I took the two I had and placed them on the tailgate of my Dads Ranger parked in front of my truck for four minutes to obtain an accurate outside temp. Then I popped the hood and set them in place. One lying on top of the MAF as close to the box as possible and the other inside the box. I closed the hood and let her idle for 12 mins them popped the hood removed the airbox cover and the results are beyond my wildest dreams. 51 degrees different. If I were to insulate the box and put a gasket on the lid it would probably be even better. Either way I'm very satisfied!!!!

I built a mold based on the measurements of the area available and then laid her up with between 3 and 4 layers. Had to have a little extra to sand away the imperfections.

Nice work and very clean which is rare. I wish you had the stock temps to compare to your new ones. Impressive either way.
