Got traction??

Alright I just ordered 4.11 gears and I am looking hard for traction bars to go with them. Any suggestions for a 2wd looking for traction bars would be appreciated. Thanks

if you wanna buy something off-the shelf (almost):

http://www.calvertracing.com/caltracs.php

little more info:

http://www.dieselpowermag.com/featur.../photo_11.html

http://www.competitiondiesel.com/for...ad.php?t=13709

if I am ever in your shoes will probably weld up a set of slapper bars to try first.

looked at Lakewood 21715's, but think they are just a little too short...might work with lowering springs though.

Question for you-have you relocated your IAT probe/split it off the MAF vane?

Thanks for the links. I contacted JDM about traction bars as well. They are sold out but should have some in about 2months. No clue what brand or cost.

What would the difference be in a traction bar for 2wd vs. 4wd. ? I'm assuming it would be the length and or mounting position, due to ride height. would this be correct?

Thanks for the info.

I've got a Lightning IAT probe (they are surprisingly cheap) and a pigtail.

Tuner suggested I split it off.

He tells me he has done it on other applications. Is the last thing that he warned me about the FRP/Whipple kit that I haven't addressed yet.

Was hoping to get some measurements directly off a set of the Lakewood bars, but the big box store (that IMHO sorta pretends to be a speed shop) had no interest in letting me.

"nope. they won't fit."

hoping to come up with the rest of the 10lb Whipple parts this summer...probably won't put them on until I have enuff in my truck fund for a set of longtubes.

Interesting. What is the purposes in the split off? And btw smart thinking about the headers. You will need them to help keep the exhaust valves cool.

Yup. Getting the air temp after the cooler instead of before the compressor. Pretty sure am going to stick mine in an intake runner also. Just need to get the ambition to yank it back off to do it...

Yes on the Yukon gears. Got em from diffsonly.com

You know this is something I have thought about numerous times. I just wasn't sure what to do about it. Sounds like something to do on this long weekend. Anybody got a part number on the lightning part with pigtail? Or at least some pointers on how to do it with what's on the truck?

sensor 9C1Z-12A697-B

pigtail kit 3U2Z-14S411-JUA

According to the magnacharger installation instructions (originally dloaded them because the pictures were better than FRP's) and the print the tuner sent me, is the GREY and the GREY/RED wires in the harness going to the MAF vane.

Am planning on putting mine in the top of the intake runner immediately behind the compressor induction housing (right rear runner viewed from front of truck).

Though they are not as cool as traction bars I have a set of roadmaster active suspension springs. I have had them on since early this year and work rather well.
