How much timing are you running and whats the A/F at?
Sounds like you could be getting some bad detonation.
Dose it sound like it's grinding a bunch of marbles around?

I sure hope not..... It doesnt sound like its denonating. Its more of a "Sounds like somethings gonna fall apart noise" coming from the blower. Who knows but i'm not gonna drive it until I find out exactly what it is. Maybe its my tranny. When I rev it from under the hood in park there is no noise but as soon as its under a load and im driving under boost the noise is there.

I'm not sure what the timing or what the a/f is. Tuner knows all that. Hes gonna look at it next week.

I assume you checked oil in front of blower! Also rear bearings are needle and use Mobil 1 synethic grease. Couplers can go bad in snout, but I'm not sure what they sound like since mine has not gone bad after almost 50,000 miles.

Yeah I like it, still havent got on it all the way yet. Still waiting on the final tune but even at half throttle its a big difference. The factory tech valve body is kind of scary in my truck cuz its so big and it bangs 2nd so hard I think something is gonna break but it shifts really firm and I def like it. I get way better gas mileage also, went from 13 mpg being my best to 15 mpg, i'm sure that will change once I get it tuned and I romp in it all the time.

I did get pulled over a couple nights ago for speeding and i've never got a speeding ticket in my life before this, but the cop was really cool and was into my truck so we talked about that and he gave me a warning.

I will get a vid up as soon as I figure out how to do so, my camcorder is ancient so I might have to spring for a new one soon.

I want to know how it tows, and what mileage is like towing...

I have an extra eaton setup, and the wife and I have been talking about getting another superduty and if your supercharged 5.4 does decent then it may change our want for a 6.8

Well in march I will be going to a race in bradenton which is about an hr away from me and i'll be towing a mustang there so I'll let you know how the mileage is on the highway.

I do want to take it to a dyno soon once its fully tuned so i'll let you know on that also. But its night and day diff from my old motor. But I did see on youtube a 6.8 with a blower that made pretty good numbers, good hp and torque was like in the 600's.

yeah, the original plan for us was to get another 6.8 truck and stick the procharger on with a wastegate...

Those 6.8s with a blower are deff impressive but it may be cheaper going the other route. I know the mileage on those are horrible, used to have an excursion and it got like between 8 and 10 mpg.

I think the 5.4 was so bad on gas before because it took all it had to push my big truck but now that it has more power I think it kind of equals out.

I was actually lookin at getting another excursion with the 6.8 and maybe doing something similar to that...... But we'll see.

I got about 15 out of my old F-250 plus no smoke on the hills and much quieter so the wife preferred it to the 7.3 and no way am I getting a 6.0 and for the small amount of towing I do the 6.8 will be plenty (expecially under boost)

15 is pretty darn good. Guess something was up with mine. Under boost it will be def enough power.... Even more than needed but thats the best part.

DO IT!!!

Haha.... Yeah my emails dont work sometimes either. I beat the heck out of it... Its fixed now.

Thanks for all your help. Those pics and emails helped alot.

Going next week to get it tuned on the dyno....... Cant wait. Ive put 1000 miles on it so far and havent even gone past half throttle. Its been really hard but dont want to mess anything up.

Quick question: Whats normal around town coolant temp supposed to be?
