intercooler

So I am getting either a t-67 or t-76 turbo for my 06 screw 5.4L. I have found everything I need except for an intercooler. Do you guys know of anybody who makes one specifically for our trucks? If not is there like a good size or someting?

well you have to do some basic measuring to see what will fit without cutting, then decide if you are willing to do a litle body surgery to get a larger one to fit. i would recommend one like procharger uses. look in the turbo section for a pic of one of the guys here that just installed his. it has a top and bottom tank and opposite side inlet and outlet. the one i am fitting to my 97 is a side tank 31" x 12" x 4" oppositte inlets but it was what i could afford and it will work fine for my app. look on ebay, mine was $100, and no surgery, just moved the aux cooler for trans and the p/s cooler

Do you have that truck up and running s1037s? I live in Madisville KY.. maybe we could meet up sometime.

Dirt Warrior, you'd be one of the first to have a turbo charged 04+ F150

Keith,
there have been a few but they have not lasted that long and the results compared to the cost were not that good

You're right. I've heard of at least one other, but his engine blew soon after install..

haha. that doesnt sound very promising. It is still my daily driver so i dont want to be pushing any more than like 450-ish. sounds like a supercharger is more suitable for a daily driver.

I don't think scary is the word. What caused the catastrophe? Weak internals... bad tune?

Best I recall hearing, not 100%, it was a bad tune. They couldn't get the part throttle driveability part of the tune down pat and it gave out due to detonation...

Don't hold me to that, but I seem to remember reading that somewhere.

With a good tune and set-up, a turbo vehicle should be just as good as any superchargerd vehicle a far as reliablity goes.

I have no experience with a turbo except my old neighbor drove a turbo and nitrous fueled Civic daily. He never really had any problems.
