Who wants to race?
Scott you silly guy!
We're more than happy to bring the Trilogy Harley SC out to play here in Texas! The truck is based out of Austin...
It however, isn't a stock kit now... Got bored over the winter... It's now sportin' a larger Heat Exchanger, 4.56 gears (Overcome those big 'ol 22's!), and Mid-length Headers/Highflow cats/Stainless cat back...
Folks are welcome to come to a spin and check it out!

If you are interested in making some green to show us what you got let me hear from you.
. Shall we bring slicks, stock tires, cheater slicks or just high performance tires? I like slicks because it will take traction out of the equation, then we'll just be talking about HP.
Thanks,

Ok, I took the bait. Lets dive into this a bit more. Since our system sales for $5589, it is a complete, bolt-on system that requires no additional tuning or componets. Therefore, adding injectors would be a waste unless you wanted to go to 10+lbs of boost. So the kit is still $5589. Next, the kit does come with a flash tool which stores the stock cal and puts in the factory cal. FRPP has an online database where you fill in your information such as gear, tire size, vehicle, vin, etc. and they overnight you a flash tool that has the latest Ford Motor Company calibration updates, which is also recognizied at dealerships as a Ford cal and not to overwrite. So, the kit is again, $5589. We do not include a boost gauge and pod, which you can purchase from Summit Racing for approx. $100, which would put you at $5689, and you would also be able to pick a boost gauge of your choice, what face color, what size, what version, Phantom, Phantom II, Cobalt, etc. At the same time, I would recommend the more important gauge, fuel PSI. Boost is not going to vary from day to day, the SC is not going to make more boost one day and burn the engine. Low fuel PSI will. So having a single pod might be a waste. What if you want to install a a/f gauge or something else, then you may need a triple, which I have in my vehicle (boost, fuel psi, a/f). And last, our "tune" is designed specifically for your vehicle and is done by what I feel is the best in the business, Badillo and Ford. This is done with Ford OEM software, Ford equipment, information from Ford engineers that actually calibrated the very vehicle were talking about, etc. This was not done with aftermarket software that have limitations, nor is it based off of earlier cals that may not have new Ford issued updates.

Actually, I have been researching this a lot lately. From what I have found, our kit is not the most expensive when comparing it to similar products when everything is equated. Alot of people were mentioning the price issue. The two closest products to us are the Roush and the Whipple. So I will dive into these two for you. Comparing to a centri is not realistic because of the major differences between the two systems, so that is why I am sticking to Whipple and Roush.
Lets start with Whipple. Cost: $5589. (I am aware of the $4699 kit but it is not intercooled and I am aware of the $5329 kit, but that doesnt come with a tuner). OK, so per a conversation with Whipple, with the $5589 kit right now they do not have the reflash tune and are only reflashing the pcm with their tune. We offer a Xcal 2 with our kit average price about $400 dollars. That makes whipples kit $5989, ten dollars cheaper then ours. Next, whipple does not include new fuel injectors in their kit. Average cost of new injectors, $350 dollars. whipples kit now is $6,339, $340 dollars more than our kit. Then add that we include an autometer boost gauge and pod, $60. That adds up to atleast $400 more than our kit. Not only that, but our tune is designed specifically for your car, and developed by one of the best in the market Lidio Iacobelli of Alternative Autoperformance. Lastly, I cannot comment on their customer support, but I can tell you that we do have the BEST customer support of anybody out their. You can check out our site under customer comments and see this info. Everyone that has purchased this kit is calling us telling us how great it is.
I will compare Roush in the next post.

I'm assuming you want to race in MI, I just so happen to have a vehicle there and would love nothing more than to have a few runs against our competition. Glad to hear that you have a representative here in MI. We likewise would love nothing more than to have a few runs against our competition. Hence, this post.
Bring whatever tires you want. Just let us know what kind you are bringing, so we can get the identical tires. I would like to clarify as stated before that this will be with just the kit on a stock 5.4L 3v engine. No changes, no modifications. Only exactly what is shipped to the customer. We want a straight up apples-to-apples comparison.
Bait. There was no bait thrown. That was my analysis on the three kits. Anyways, I am glad you clarified that you are now have the tuners and are able to ship.
Hopefully Mr. Roush, will be able to join us. I hope so, but I'm sure he is very busy with all of his projects.
Hey Dustin, on a side note, where did you get your ME degree?

There is no need for bells and whistles, were more blue collar up here in the Detroit area then you California boys.

As for my degree, what does that have to do with anything? Is there a reason why I need to state my achievments
? I went to Fresno State University. I also worked for the SC business full time, while going to school
. I've worked here nearly 17 years, although I was washing cars the first few years
Thanks,

I got no flash tool. Don't need it now. Will consider trade for plugs and other do dads.
Glad to hear that we got a race.
Nothing better than racing and BSing. I am hoping this will be a good time for all. Who knows, watch both trucks run nose to nose. Wouldn't that be some stuff. Ours will be a 4wd as well.
Nothing, I just saw in a previous post you mentioned about studies for ME students. There is no reason other than I was just curious. Thats why I said on a side note. Currently I am working on getting my masters from The University of Michigan while working full time as well. Boy have I done my fair share of washing cars. I was not intending to question your achievments, or anything other than just a bit of curiosity on a personal level. Sorry if you took it as a personal attack in anyway.

Everything Dustin said except Ed doing our calibration work. Everyone seems to keep ignoring the Powerworks / Magnacharger kit but as far as the calibration work, done by calibration people who do mainstream Ford cal programs using Ford software, tools and release process, dyno mapping, (with in-cylinder pressure transducers) vehicle development and durability testing, the only real difference between us and the Whipple kit is the Supercharger, and our price is just slightly less than the Whipple. This is also a complete kit including an EO sticker (for those of you who need to worry about such things) with everything you need for the install except coolant for the I/C system. Our kit also does not come with a gauge and pod but for pretty much the same reasons Dustin pointed out. And, if you go back to the first page of this, I accepted the challenge with my personal truck, No BS, No Excuses, with our base kit on it with the only modifications being the Corsa exhaust. If that is an issue I'll put the stock exhaust back on. However the Corsa Sport system sounds really nice.
I don't see any real advantage for the Trilogy kit vs. us, Whipple, OR the Roush intercooled kit since we are all selling a kit that is designed for a base 5.4L 3V. The base engine is only capable of safely putting out so much power, and as it has been pointed out there are different ways to do it. We chose to use larger injectors while others choose to boost fuel pressure. They both work. The real differences come down to how well the truck performs everyday. How it drives everyday. How safely you can tow your boat or travel trailer on vacation or on the weekends, NOT how much power it makes before you hit the speed limiter on the chassis dyno. NO one has mentioned transmission durability, and I don't know about anyone elses kits or development program but we ran 10,000 mile vehicle durability at MAX GVW and another 4,000 miles at MAX GCW, (Gross Combined Weight, fully weighted truck and trailer) and are still accumulating miles. We spent a lot of time on transmission calibration in vehicle as well as torque mapping on the engine dyno for proper ETC functionality and torque control. My wife and I live with this truck everyday, and it is so much nicer now than it was from the factory. The truck behaves great, I tow my snowmobile trailer with it, the wife goes to the grocery store with it or drives it to work. It is an everyday driver that drives like an everyday driver but puts 385hp and 430lb ft of torque safely to the rear wheels.
mab351,
You are welcome to come out. Reading your post I am not sure exactly whom you represent, if anybody. But please do come out. Its a great opportunity for all to see each others product, show potential, current customers what we each have to offer.
We agree with you on this because we are likewise, and would like an opportunity to show it:
This post seems to be going in a personal direction and by no means are my statements directed to be personal and hope they were not taken that way. This race is meant and intended to compare head-to-head the kits, BS, and get out of the office.

As far as who we are, Powerworks was started when we were Cosworth Technology as a way to break into the aftermarket industry bringing the years of knowledge and experience from our OEM and racing background. Personally I've been in calibration and Powertrain development for 23 years and with my current company for the last 16, and almost all of it is with FMC products. Cosworth Technology was purchased last year by MAHLE which is one of the largest worldwide engine component manufactures including the Pistons in the 5.4L 3V and many other OEM engines.
Anyway, we have teamed up with Magnacharger on this project and have more planned down the road. This weekend we are at the SEMA spring truck expo in Indianapolis booth #1537 If anyone is coming, stop by and say hi! Would love to talk about our stuff, your stuff, everybody's stuff. There are great people out here and we all have the same thing in common with each other as we did with our fathers and friends. Cars, Trucks, Racing! The smell of Turbo Blue as a rumbling street rod rolls by...
