Once you do as much as you have, it's tough to tell what it is! Even mine doesn't look much like an XLT anymore. Oh, okay, I gotcha. I thought both front seats usually had the lumbar, I wonder if my shotgun seat has it. That little amp I've got is 7 years old now and is still doing a good job. I've been impressed with him, he's a plucky little guy lol. I can only imagine how clean and crisp all your gear sounds. I hate only listening to boom. When I occasionally get a good set of head phones on, I'm reminded of all the little details in music that I'm missing, and those make a huge difference. That is what you want, loud as hell while super clean and not just ghetto-boomin!

Passenger power seat with lumbar support is one of the rarest options in my year truck, even expeditions. So many people get sucked into the boom that they end up loosing out on much of the music. When I was building this set up it was about dynamic head room and sound Q without having to max out the volume when the windows are down.

Oh, huh! That's interesting considering how important lumbar is, I definitely need it as I'm a youngin' with a bad back already haha.

I had 15s in my old suburban (ah the punk high school days) and all you could hear in the third row was bass pounding your head in. Going for quality vs. ghetto booming is definitely the way to go and it makes a huge difference!

Believe me I know all about that. I used to do competition Car Audio. I've blown a windshield out, Pretty much shattered a Vista competition shell IE 17 cracks zig zagged over the top. I like the way I can pull up to the Boomers and drown them out will total sound rather than the migraine they drive...lol It's all in fun, but I don't play it loud for very long anymore. I need my ears to be able to hear my grand kids say "papa papa" ...lol

That's freakin cool! If you actually blow out a windshield, you know your system is hardcore haha. Loudest system I've ever heard was a guy on my football team with an old two-door Tahoe, badass truck, but he had 4 L7s, each set with their own 4000 watt flea market amp. One song in there with the gain and volume all the way down and you'd have a pounding headache for days. You could hear him coming from miles away.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't occasionally miss being obnoxious, feeling the hairs on my head bouncing and my nose tickled from the driver seat, being able to levitate/move back and forth an empty milk gallon in front of the port (still don't understand that, but it was cool!), and inhibit proper lung expansions and breathing in the third row

When I did comp You could not turn it up to high while driving cause there would be to many lanes. We put a foam beer holder on the shell and on a single bass note bounced it just under 3 feet off the roof. We made a top for the box that pushed all the sound through where the window would be into the cab. The window had been removed and a accordion boot installed between the cab and shell. That's when the windshield threw in the towel. 4 15's and 4 18's was just ridiculous. How I can still hear is beyond me, must of been the Military grade ear protection. I still have a set of the old school ear muff style ones...lol

Huh! I didn't know they had 18s that long ago. I swear I'm not being a stupid, millennium, "anyone over 30 is old as dirt" kid haha. You're 40-45 IIRC, right? Family does get in the way of the fun sometimes . . .

A "fart" maybe but old...Never...lol
"45" The kids is why it took me so long to do the rear bucket seat conversion and much of the other stuff.
They are all grown and on their own now, so it's game on!

Anyone that still heavily mods their vehicle(s) after a full cycle of parenting is someone to look up to for me

Well what did you think I meant by "Anyone that still heavily mods their vehicle(s) after a full cycle of parenting is someone to look up to for me "?

I'm serious though. I obviously don't know you much at all on a personal level, but 1) a Marine is always a role model of some kind to some extent. Thank you for your service, again. and 2) I'd better still be into modding stuff when I'm 40 - death cause stock ain't no fun.

Oh, and I know we share similar political views, as most military service members do, so there's another thing.
