Question about removing rear blocks on a 4x4...

Question about removing rear blocks on a 4x4...

i have a '10 screw f150 4x4 and im looking to lower the rear to level it with the front. do i just need to remove the rear blocks or do i need shackles or both? im not too familiar with lowering trucks so i would appreciate everyone's help. thanks!

my buddy offered to lower mine, he said best way about going into this was 2" drop shackles, leave the blocks

You can remove the blocks. It's easy. Just remove the Ubolts and lift the truck by the springs, one side at a time. You will need to purchase new Ubolts and nuts.

so i can either remove the rear blocks and change the U bolts to the 2wd or just buy 2" drop shackles and keep the rear blocks?

pretty much from what i saw in the thread, had forgotten greencrew had dropped his, saw the thread awhile ago, he knows what he's doin!

or do both and get a 3" drop

just get 2wd u-bolts if you decide to get rid of the block.

but, if you do shackles, you will not touch your u-bolts at all.

your lift block is more then likely only 1" tall
and shackles usually offer you 1-2" of drop. just depends on how much you want to bring it down.
