shackle question, issue, pics
hey guys I had a 2 inch drop shackle installed and the ride is a little ruff over bumps, Ive got about an inch of clearance over the rubber stopper which is what I think I am hitting. There just isn't much give if you know what I mean. I don't know much about how they are supposed to ride but my friend has a drop too and said his doesn't feel like that. Is this normal or do I need a smaller stopper that wasn't installed? Also how much damage will I do to continue riding on it like that? My set up is a Roush suspension kit plus the 2 inch shackle.

Truck looks good! Hor much drop is it now?
Is it the stock bump stop you're hitting? Cut it down some or get a shorter bump stop. There are some button style that are shorter, but they are not as forgiving. I've rode on my GF bumpstop (about 3/4" to 1" above the axle with bed unloaded) before with a heavy load in the bed. Didn't hurt anything.

Yes I believe it is the stock bump, it makes the most sense that its what I am hitting, its not metal or anything I can just tell my suspension is like maxed out. A speed bump makes it happen easily. Im not sure how tall the stock bump is, id have to look. I think my friend has the ground force kit, i am going to ride in it tomorrow to see how different it is from mine. I am also curious if the fact that I am using all of my Roush shocks makes a difference too. I'm going to stop by a shop tomorrow to see what they have to say about.
I would but it looks hard to reach for a clean cut and I believe the screw goes all the way through the bump stop.

how hard is it to get them off, is it better to just run with them and say F-it when they hot or take them out and if I hit metal to metal just same sh*t lol. Either way seems a bit shi*ty.

Just a single bolt through the center of the bump stop id remove them im dropped 6" in the rear and I hardly ever bottom out and I have a fiberglass bedcover which weights more than yours so you won't have any problems
sounds good, ill keep you guys posted after i talk to the shop about it all too.
