i want to use plexi!

i want to use plexi!

i am going to make my own box and i'm making the legs shorter and using a half inch of plexi in front of the speaker. will this make a difference at all in the way it sounds??

If you get it sealed and mounted securely in there I don't see it doing much. I have seen a lot of fiberglass enclosures that have used it. I am using it in my fiberglass box. The biggest thing is to make sure it sealed properly.

are you talking about a plexy window in the box or a plexy floor of some sorts?

If this is like a false floor or something mounted in front of the driver, it could change the sound and possibly increase power handling and output.

it would be a window. the box is sealed completely i wanted to add a little more wood to be able to the front oif the driver.to make a double sealed box. is it gonna make a different thought or should i just be happy with the sealed box???

if the box is already built your SOL. I built my box with a proper plexy front and it really wasnt worth the time and effort to pull it off

wellt the box isnt done yet but i was planning on it. so u dont think the plexi was worth the time?

use clear lexan if its going to have any kind of pressure to it like the front baffle. lexan is alot stronger than just regular plexi

my plexi was 3/4" yo just have to call around local plastic distriutors. I was lucky to find a scrap cut on ebay in the exact size I needed

Hmmm my local Home Depot carries it up to 1 inch think.
