Upgraded Factory head unit...

I changed out my 2000 head unit for a new 2005 6 disc unit. I am trying to figure out a good set of replacement speakers. I am considering a small sub buried in the center console, but I'm not sure if the sub will work with the head unit or should I upgrade that too? I'm just looking for input from all you audiophiles. I mostly listen to rock and I'm not a purist, whatever is on the radio works for me.. LOL Thanks for the help..

Lower powered amps often have speaker level inputs so there isn't a need for an aftermarket HU. Or you can get a line out converter.

Lots of people are happy with Bostons on stock HU power.

There are much cheaper alternatives than a center console sub. Might want to check out some underseat designs.
