Will i bump?

Aite looking at getting a sub for my birthday... how does this setup sound?

1 12" Fi BL with Cooling and Flatwind Coil $304
1 Audioque 1200D amp $249
LMI Seat lift $155
4 guage wiring $60
Building my own ported box (i need some designs) $30?
Total: $798

How does it sound? Trying to stay under $800 and want something that bumps but that i can also turn way down for when i listen to country. Speakers are out of my price range but i do already have the audiophile so i know mine are already upgraded. Thoughts, opinions?

I wouldnt get the seat lift IMO. I had it and it wasnt worth the 155 bucks. I only used three of the pieces they gave me anyway.

No way can you build a both that cheap. I thought a sheet of MDF alone was like $30 ... then you have glue, screws, carpet, etc.

Audiophile does not mean you have better speakers.

That should get pretty loud, although I question the airspace you have available being sufficient for that sub.
Box will cost more than that, since you'll definitely need aeroports.
Make sure you order that sub with dual 2 ohm voicecoils.

1. yeah i wasnt sure how much the box would cost thats why i put a question mark at the end of the price

2. it requires 1.8-2.5 cuft and ive already talked to people and they said it would fit easily.

3. why would i get the dual 2 ohm? im going to run the sub at 1 ohm

4. rolltide4x4 you have no idea what your talking about

if the sub is dual voice coil and you want to run it at one ohm then you will need a 2 ohm sub. if you have 2 dual voice coil subs and want to run at one ohm using only one amp then you would need 4 ohm subs.

heres a guide. enter how many subs you have and their impedence and it will give you all the different wiring configurations for that setup.

dual 2 ohm coils wired in parallel = 1 ohm load to your amplifier.

Sounds pretty slaptastic.

you should be able to get plenty of airspace for one sub, but im not sure if that sub will fit under the seat. the deepest boxes ive seen online arent even 6" deep and you will need a little extra to allow excursion of the woofer when it hits or it will just be banging against the bottom of the seat. i got rid of my back seat but there are a couple other options, you can fold up one side of the rear seat and build a box to fit that space or if you have a column shifter then you can do away with the center seat up front and build a box for that.

supercrewsounds.com makes a sealed box that has 7 and 1/8 mounting depth and the sub is only 6.75" so there should be plenty of room

Make sure there is room for a pole vent. And with the power your putting to that sub and the flex it can induce on a baffle a prefab box is not something you should use. Seat lift + aero ports should give you the airspace you need and get pretty fawkin loud.

That is not correct. The box specs for an 04-08 SuperCrew box is this:

Mounting Depth = 5.25 inches (optional 5 7/8" available)

I hope you are looking at a different box ........
