well I ended up buy that idmax for 220. I cant wait to hear how horrible and over rated it will sound. building the box tonight. It's going to be 1.65 cubes total. I'm just worried about the top diameter. My dimensions are 14x12x17. I'm trying to wedge it in there tight so there wont be any rattles. I need to figure out what weazels dimensions are

Burning up an IDMAX with only 600 watts? Something was wrong with the amp, sub or testing. I have had 3 different IDMAX's. Run them with anything from 200 watts up to 1200 watts. Never a problem, never missed a beat. Actually, I have been installing my own car audio/video for the past 20+ years and have yet to blow or burn up a sub or speaker. Maybe I am not trying hard enough. Anyway, I think we will probably disagree on this topic and that's ok.

I will stand by my statement always and say I believe Image Dynamics makes some of the best subwoofers for the money. And I would put their subs up against anyone else's.

What amps were you using on your IDMAX's? The autotek I was using was a 7300 which was 500rms at 4 ohms, but a REAL 500rms. ID used to make awesome subs, but IMO not anymore. That's fine if we disagree. No big deal. You, unlike others actually have knowledgable things to say so thank you.

right now I have a us xt4000, and yes it is a piece of trash. It says like 1500@1ohm but its probably more like 1100 which is still plenty. I am just waiting to get that sundown. I pulled out my rear fill today and need to do some major tweaking on my audison because my cmx's aren't sounding right. I desperately need to rewire the whole truck but have to wait for a while. I can run a length of 13 on the box so it should be perfect now. It will squish the seat a little but otherwise no big deal.

Have you heard the new IDQv3? I don't see how you could possibly call it anything but awesome.

90 bucks for a woofer like the TC9 is pretty hard to beat, but, yes, I would rather have the Mag.

My previous Gen2 TC9 based Mags didnt have chit on my newest Gen3 though.
Now of couse it wasnt a straight TC9, but I cant possibly see a huge difference between the TC9 and the TC9 based Mag....at least not as much of a difference as I saw going from the TC9 Mag to the Gen3 Mag.

D9, Mag, and TC9 are all nice, I dont think you would be going wrong with any one. Id probably pick up the TC9 just because of the price.

If you could fork over 250 you could have a mag v4.
