Boston Acoustics vs MB Quart vs Focal
I could really use some input from the collective knowledge here. I am living in an area that auditioning any of these speakers is not an option unless I drive 2+ hours. I want to stick to 5x7/6x8 becuase I want a decent drop in solution. I just had to put my CDT's up for sale because of mounting depth options.
The three options I have found are
1. Boston Acoustics SL80's
2. Focal 570-CV1
3. MB Quart DKE168
I am leaning towards the BA's becuase it is a 5.25 mid on a plate, so the benefit of a round driver is present. Hopefully some of you have some personal experience or opinions. I wish I could just visit a shop and listen, but I can't.

I've had them all and currently using the BA's as my fronts in the truck. 6.5" rally series components.
I'm using the Focal Utopia 6.5" components in the Vette.
The BA's are a good mid-fi speaker for the money. The tweets on some models were a little bright, but can easily be fixed with a resistor or x-over.
The Focals are hard for a lot of folks to get used to. They tend to be neutral and a little bright sounding. They are engineered to reproduce the music without coloration. This throws some people for a loop. Very clean and efficient speakers for mellow to hard rock. Although the highs can get too crisp.
I wouldn't mess with the MB's since the buyout. But that was a few years ago. Maybe they have been bought by another company?
They were a pretty good mid-fi speaker as well, but their tweets were notoriously sharp and bright.
If you can get a good deal on the Focals I would consider those or the new stuff from Polk. The Sig Ref series. They are a phenomenal speaker for the money. ~ $700 for the 6.5" component set with x-overs.
Chit....sorry, forgot you were asking about coax speakers. I don't know about coax stuff. I haven't used them in almost 10 years.
