:help:Sub wiring Question/Help:help:

The schematic calls for a shielded twisted pair goin from points 1, 2 and 3 on the head unit to #'s 7,8 and 9 on the sub woofer.. It shows the sheidled wire as being connected (points 3&9). Is this the actual shielding from around the twisted pair? Or is it a seperate wire?

If your asking whether that silver braided lookin stuff from the pic in the link is a separate wire or shielding, its shielding

It says the shield gets connected at point #3 on head unit connector, and point #9 on the subwoofer connector. I'm asking if the shield gets attached at #3 and #9 ??? ( I know what sheilding looks like, Its the schematic I dont understand.)

Yes, it's a factory sub that I'm making the harness for. I have the schematic that shows shielding as being connected to the plug of both ends of the harness.

Gotcha

Id say its a separate wire. I see absolutley no reason to hook a shielding up to something. I dont really know jack about that factory stuff though, lots of people have done the conversion and what not so they should be able to help better than I can.

Can you post a pic of the schematic you are referring to?
