Dear Steve,

I know this is the area for *you* to make announcements, but I felt that perhaps after all is said and done, that you might like to know that the vast majority of people here support you, always have, and always will.

As I have mentioned to you privately in the past, my decade of work for CompuServe gave us the unique experience of being involved with an online service where there was a very friendly atmosphere that promoted the exchange of relavant information. As we all know, far too many "enthusiast" types of web sites are filled with flame wars & otherwise non-productive or immature environments.

When I first happened onto F-150 Online, I was *immediately* impressed with the fact that the less-than-mature behaviour that constantly plagues most similar sites, by and large, does *NOT* dominate nor define the general atmosphere on *this* web site.

This is such a rare atmosphere, and Steve, what you have done here is so very unique and badly needed that this is what has led to our support of this site. And we will *continue* to support this site, for as long as you continue to do what you do!

Even when things look their bleakest, please always know that the people who truly value this site, and your efforts, will continue to be here and continue to support you in your efforts here, and that of course includes us.

You are absolutely right to protect your family from legal liability in today's litigious society. Anyone who tries to guilt-trip you (by saying you owe them even more than you have already provided) is way off base.

My selfish concern is that a few bad apples will put a bad taste in your mouth about this site, causing you to quit.

Let me be the first to third the above comments.
I have checked out quite a few truck related sites, and most seem to be filled with nothing more than biased opinions, useless information, and less than educated suggestions.
Your site on the other hand, is quite the opposite. You have obviously attracted a group that represents the "more informed" segment of truck owners. I feel this is most likely due to the fact that the board is run in a much more professional manner.

I would just like to agree with the previous posts. *Nowhere* else can you find such an overwhelming source of organized information as you can here. I must tip my hat to the amount of hard work that just goes into creating a site like this. I don't think any other sites could measure up to this.

Steve, I hope you realize what a great asset your site is to us "F-150 owners"(and other Ford truck owners). No where else on the web can you find the information and answers to Ford truck questions, one may have.

99% of the members will try and help you with a question or problem if they can.
That just shows the integrity of this great site you have built.

I have been watching the membership grow and grow over a short period of time and I'm sure they all feel as I do, that the effort and hard work you put into this site is very much appreciated!

I even like to shop in your Online Store and will continue to do so as long as it's around.

This site is one of the reasons why I can't see my future without an F-150 in it.

This message board is, by far, the best run message board on the net. I really like the format and everybody is like a family here. We look out for each other. Sure, we squabble a bit, but in the end, most of us can put our differences aside and shake hands again. Those who can't are run off by the family.

I have to comment because I want to show my support for this site.
I found this site while I was still looking for a truck. I had my heart set on an F150 but was getting discouraged - I didn't think I'd ever find one I could afford. I did find many Dodge Rams & was about to "succumb" as I had been renting cars for over 2 months & just couldn't go on doing so.
THIS SITE & the GREAT people I met here made me decide I HAD to get an F150! If I didn't, how could I "belong" to a site like this? I couldn't imagine NOT being a part of F150 Online! As luck would have it I did find a truck - my DREAM truck & it is an F150!
As for the problems here, I did not know of any of this nor do I really know all the details but I am confident that if the majority of members feel someone was trying to hurt this site then they must be onto something. NOT KNOWING about the problems, I had registered at that other site. I am now going to see how I can remove myself as a registered member. In any event I haven't been back to that site since the other day when I first learned there was a conflict. I am not "bashing" anyone's site. I am merely making my choice to affiliate myself with a site that has the quality of content & members that this site has.
Please know that you have alot of support & admiration & we will know which site is the best for us. That is this site! Thanks for your hard work! It DOES show!

I check out every new site that comes along and join and link to it if it is a good one.
I have recently started applying a few standards that I won't publicly state or list, but lets just say not ALL sites pass. I won't flame them, but I won't link to them either. Anyone can throw up a Site and make all kinds of promises, but the quality and integrity must be there.
Steve has done a great job of maintaining that here.
Do I go around posting on other sites that they suck and people should join this one? No.
Would Steve be embarrassed if he knew I did?
I think so.
I can just about guarantee he would NOT pat me on the back for that behaviour. That tells me a lot about his integrity right there. ...and YES it DOES show!

All we need to know is you guys didn't get what you wanted from Steve, so you all got upset and went off and associated yourselves with another site that gave you what you all wanted. More power to ya. Just be happy where you are and let us be happy where we are.

You and others who keep coming back here with your little snide remarks about this site and Steve are accomplishing only one thing. It's showing the rest of us how small you really are.

The debate was over a long time ago. You guys have a site where you're welcommed. Why do you folks keep coming back here? All I can think of is you guys are just acting like little kids. Dennis,... I guess first off I will say that, Yes, we did not get what we wanted in way of Chapter Formation here on this site using the name of the site in the name of the chapters. We were a little disappointed that at first we "could & did use the site's name", and even got high praise from Steve, by him putting the Tx. Chapter win at the heatwave on the front page of the site. Then, next thing we know, the chapter & name thing is no longer acceptable. So, by way of the "chapters" issue, yes, there are several states that left.
We didn't cry & run off like little kids as you insinuate. Some were just more mad about it than others & had good reason to be.

As for the "debate being over", well.... yes it is... I don't see anyone "debating" anymore.

And as for your statement on us "whining", I don't see Mumbly "whining" in his above post ? Or being negative ? He just said he wished everyone could know the whole story & there is alot longer history of this thing than what you see on the boards here since this thing started & ended not long ago. Go read it again, nobody's whining or debating. Let's all move on to use your words.

I started out on this site 3 years ago & agree, this is a great site. But you can't comment on what you don't know like that.
I'm not bashing anyone's site either. When it comes to FORD sites, they're all worth checking out. There is alot of good info. & people out there as well as here.
