Imagine that "your staff" was 1000x larger with turnover that is so bad that no one knows what is going one from one day to the next. Imaging the processes and procedures involved in just getting a message to the FEW people who have the knowledge and access to make the changes.. that's close to what I imagine that we are facing here

PS - I own 2 Linux web servers of my own - hosting over 80 accounts with over 120 domains. I administer 8 copies of VB and 14 copies of photopost. Ive been volunteer mod here since 2000. Imagine my frustration at watching this unfold

Edit - I would expect that anything that is non standard ( non VB ) that breaks will not be fixed. WHat that means is that as time goes on in an effort to make things easy ( cheap ) for IB to support all the IB sites will eventually look VERY similar with similar features and functions

Thanks, Silver - did you receive my PM?

Last - on my forum, we are all volunteers, me included. The owner does give us little perks but no money changes hands. We enjoy ad-free browsing, for example. Regular members who don't want ads have to pay a subscription fee.

Sorry, forgot to check this thread! :o

The Red Dog is a pretty neat place, we ate there several times when we lived up there. I hope your parents enjoyed their visit!

At this time, you are unable to add a signature that is greater than the 500x100 rule (by theory)... this has not/will not affect current signatures.

Also, WMR - it affects the .jpg or .bmp (or other) in the signature only right now... key words, right now. Text may be one of the next targets.
Thanks RP. I'll try to remember to check for updates! :o

I totally understand folks wanting to show off their trucks and F150online has the perfect place for just that, it's called the photo gallery. If the tiny picture in your sig is enticing enough, people will flock to your gallery to check out the real deal.

I for one applaud the sig size restriction, some of the outrageous ones on here make pages load really slow. I don't have dial-up anymore but when I did the huge sigs really sucked!!

I know it's not going to happen. I'm not complaining. I'm just voicing my opinion. I still wish we could do 600 x 250 as a maximum signature size. My old signature was 550 x 150 and it was not big at all. I am curious though. Are moderators going to do something about the people who list out all of their mods in text? That's ridiculous.

I think this is bull crap. People like me, who have massive sigs, are very upset. I plan on leading a revolt. Nah, i kid, i think this has been a long time coming. I fully support you MODS!!! Its friday, u know what that means.....

The system will force them to shorten it the next time they edit the sig

the text controls work well - the image controls we are still playing with

Does this count the graphics that are housed on photobucket?

RP,

See my post here
https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=335824

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...34&postcount=3

This is a problem because no matter the size of the uploaded image the galleries here stretch it to 600 pixels wide.

Thanks. Not sure how to remedy this one...

It's looking more and more like the total PITA generated by this attempt at making the forums more user/surfer friendly is turning in to a nightmare....

The lack of support is starting to become blatently obvious to all of the members, isn't it?

I hear you. It must be really frustrating for you and the other moderators. I guess one solution would be to have a max signature size of 600x120 and then nothing in the software needs to be changed.
