Angry Trying to resize signature!

I made a new signature that is actually smaller than 500x100 and saved it to my desktop. However, after uploading it from my desktop into my gallery, it appears much bigger than 500x100 and all out of focus.....it automatically makes it bigger!

How do I solve this issue?

Instead of using the gallery, use something like Photobucket, turn off any automatic resizing features it may have.

I just tried it and it cahnged my 500x100 image to 600x120. Very odd. It even says that it is 500x100 in Windows Explorer under the "Dimensions" column. Does that mean that we need to make our signature pictures 83.33% smaller than 500x100 (416x83) so that it make them bigger? I will give that a try.

Here is the first image (500x100 on my computer)

Here is the 416x83 image (it is blurrier because I just quickly made it 83% smaller)

The results? It made them both 600x120!!

Something needs to get fixed or it will be impossible to have a 500x100 signature on here. It appears that something is forcing all images to be 600 pixels wide.

As another test I uploaded this image. It is 180x252 on my computer. The gallery blew it up to 429x600! It is forcing the larger dimension of every image to 600.

I encountered the same issue when making a new sig. Site gallery blew it up. I hosted the same image on photobucket and all is well. See below.

Supposed legal sig image from my gallery...

Same image hosted by PB is my sig now...

Sure sounds like a gallery issue to me. I'm not aware of anything in vBulletin that would force this - maybe Silver_2000 might. I'm gonna report this post to moderators, this issue is certainly going to complicate the new system.

Thanks for pointing this out, guys. The short answer is that this will be a long time to fix.

We're trying to paddle the boat here guys... it doesn't help that only two of us here have oars and neither have access to the areas to make this damn thing work....

Again, sorry. I promise we're trying to implement this -- truth be told, it may die only because we don't have access to the necessary components to make this work... a pitty but, it's the problem that we're running in to...

It's like having a brand new car and no keys to drive it.... or, being a mushroom locked in a dark room with all the BS that you can eat...

Don't worry RP, I don't think anybody is blaming you guys. We know that there are a lot of people you have to get through to to get anything accomplished, it's just big business.

FYI, word on the street is that p-bucket exernal linking to signatures will, eventually, be snubbed. Who knows when that may occur but, that's the word...

I cannot answer that with certainty but, I think it'll just apply to the signature. Then again, we'll have to wait and see if it really happens.

Yes, it's 1024x768 and WAY WAY WAY too big. The limit now is 500x100.

Please use the Testing forum................
