Painted Emblems

I have seen a few guys talk about it and I have done several searchs for it but nothing came up on a details process. How do you paint your emblems, the ones on the fenders and tail gate. If someone knows where directions are located on here that tells how to do it and could send me the link, or just tell me how to do it I would appreciate it.

I looked in there but didn't see anything. I also did like 5 different searchs. I will look in the technical writeups again.

Also, Darren, I love your truck. I basically want my truck to have the same set up as your truck.

Patriot is not out of business, but they CAN NOT do anything relating to F-150 stuff. That includes overlays (Ford ovals), inlays (what you're talking about here--the letters inside the emblems), and decals (FX4, XLT, etc). If you want something done it must be custom--nothing to do with Ford. Decals and overlays not too bad, but it's going to be difficult with the emblem inlays.

I'd see if Patriot could do some type of inlay system like "051rodF-".....that way you can still cut out the individual letters for your emblems.

I painted the 2010 badges dark shadow grey and taped off the letters to keep the textured black.

Just taped off letters, scuff up plastic with sandpaper, adhesion promotor, then color coat. Pretty simple.

I got the black FX4 letter inlays from patriot a while ago, but it looks just as good without them IMO.
