2004 F-150 Sirus Install w Pics

Here is my install Pics, this went very easy as there is allot of room under the dash.

Here is the Radio:

I mounted the Antenna under the windshield wiper on the driver’s side.

Look hard and you will see the antenna wire:

This will make it easier to see:

Hope this helps anyone wanting to mount theirs in the same place, there is a wiring harness going through the firewall I just followed it.

I have ordered th P.I.E. Adapter and will install that next.

Nice job on the install. With the antenna mounted under the cowl, driver's side, how is your Sat. signal? Does it fade in and out, or is the signal strong?

What you've done is similar to my plans to install the Kenwood H2E, and I plan to mount the antenna in the same place...if the signal is strong enough. Thanks for the help.

My question too! I am ready to get the antenna off the dash tray. I don't like the idea of running the wire out the rear stop light. On my 02, I ran the wire out the grommet on the firewall, then up the "A" pillar, then under the top windshield moulding to the front center of the roof. It worked great, and didn't look bad.

I thought fabricating a mount to mount to the top of the cowl...something billet would be cool!

Any thoughts?

Regards!

That's a great idea, but the problem I see is that the antenna may need several square inches of metal around it to recieve enough signal to allow for clear reception. That's my question about mounting the antenna under the cowl? Is there enough surrounding metal to amp. the signal for clear reception? Hope so, its a great spot.

That is where I mounted mine. I haven't used it much... truck is an '05 purchased end of July and received the PIE AUX converter first week in Sept... and I'm still usng my M/C ... it's still very nice up here in the northeast....

Doesn't seem to be any worse than when it was installed on the roof of my Ranger.. Looking at the signal strength meter it is mostly max except when in dense heavy tall trees... just like before.. I have the antenna out in the open on my M/C and it reacts the same way.. [ ]

Don't have any plans on moving it.. and it is VERY easy to install.. just run the wire down to the bottom of the door and punch trough the gasket at the bottom of the door under the plate that holds the carpet down..

Thanks Jack. Yeah, I'm not worried about installing anything, just concerned about the SAT. signal with the antenna mounted under the cowl. As long as it comes in clear, that's all I'm worried about. Thanks again for the comments.

The only time that I loose my signal is when I pass under a bridge. I installed the PIE adapter today and I can not get over how nice it is as also the quality is great.
